Think about it! And let's have some fun with this thread...

Where would the Firefly story be now if we were actually in the the 4th season?

Would Book be dead? Would we have learned any more about his secret past?

Would Wash be dead? Would he and Zoe have had any problems with their marriage? Perhaps more talk of children or even a possible pregnancy?

How about Simon and Kaylee? Would their relationship have started to go somewhere by season 2 or 3?

Do you think Inara would have been absent for a lot of season 2? How do you think Joss or the other writers would have kept her involved, but not as an active part of the crew?

Do you think River would have developed her mental and fighting powers as far as she did in Serenity by season 4?

Would we have had a 100 more comical moments with Jayne?

What kinds of other crazy/interesting villains would they have tangled with? Would we have seen more Badger? More with the Hands of Blue? More revelations about Blue Sun?

Man, it makes me want to cry every time I think about how we could have possibly had another 36 episodes at this point in time! Argh! I'd like to hear some of your thoughts, speculations, wishes, and dreams about the Firefly 'verse for the 3 seasons that COULD HAVE BEEN!!!

ONETRANSMISSION

Personally, I think we could've had more on Kaylee's back story. Maybe a visit with her home planet and a stop by her folks' home.

Maybe even the same for some of the other crew members, like wash and Zoe?

Another thought... I remember in the commentary for the pilot episode, Joss was pointing out the scene where Inara pulled out a syringe during the Reaver fly-by. Joss said that it would have been revealed in the future the contents and purpose of that syringe, but now we'll probably never know!

I know someone has brought this up before but if it were all some elaborate dream fashioned by the operative to get the location of Miranda from River, there could be hope!

Hope for Book and his mysterious past.

Hope for more leaves in the wind with Wash.

Hope for Mal and Inara.

Hope for more Kaylee and Simon.

Hope for more Jayne statues.

Hope for River to actually become a living ship.

I'm going to upset myself with all of this false hope.
