Rapt moments in Serenity (***spoilers, naturally***)

My viewing total is now up to eleven, and I've noticed something about audience reactions to Serenity. There are certain moments when the viewers are so totally absorbed that there's not a peep or cough to be heard.

I'll mention a couple of them:

1) During the Fruity Oaty Bar ad in the Maidenhead, as the camera closes in on River's face, then just her lips whispering "Miranda!" Total silence in the theater for this one, every single time.

2) The run through Reaver territory on the way to Miranda. Edge-of-your-seat stuff.

3) The funeral scene. Very solemn indeed.

Anyone else notice any moments like this?

I've noticed the noisy parts but the majority of times I watched it was first, and nearly empty, showings. Scarce a Browncoat in these parts, sadly.

the first time i watched the BDM, the crowd was not a good one!

It should have been complete silence but some obnoxious people in the theater laughed, like it was soooo stupid. they did this several times during the movie when they should have been silent. Example:

1. when Simon says to Kaylee how much he regrets not being with her all those years. that was a total hush moment mixed with some silent awwwws. they laughed again. i had to admit that it was a bit corny for Joss, but it was so sinciere and wonderful for simon to say! i was elated that simon finally made his move and those jerks jerked me out of the moment. i wanted to go back there and punch them. luckily Joss made his move with kaylee saying "you mean ... as in ... SEX?!" now that was my Joss! and that shut them up quick!

other silent moments are:
1. when they are on miranda walking through a deserted town. it was so unreal, so unnatural you just couldn't believe it.
2. when the vid of the woman explaining about the paks was on the screen. that was pure horror and although many were probably horrified, no one made a sound!

that's some of what i have seen. i'll see the movie again and look for more.

The beginning of River's last fight scene, when she punches out the first Reaver. That was the only one I noticed when I went last, that hasn't already been mentioned.
