Universal Board Shutting Down

Just got this *official* email from the uni board:

"It is with a heavy heart that I must inform you that on January 6, 2006, The Browncoats will shut down. We have had some wonderful times over these 19 months: met people from around the world, had interesting discussions about Serenity and every topic under the sun on the message boards, had lots of laughs ("I can't believe Shepherd Book is Mal's father *spoiler* was a personal favorite), and seen some sadness as well. There really has never been a community quite like The Browncoats.

Of course this is not the end of The Browncoats; there are many other sites that will allow the community to continue on. If you do get nostalgic for these boards, check out http://serenitymovie.org , a forum similar in look to this one set up by Gossi - one of our own."

That's a real shame... but inevitable. The dvd is out and like the box office, the parent company is only willing to put so many dollars into the first 2 weeks of either release. If you don't like that coldness then you're living at the wrong time.

Me personally... fwiw... as crazy as it may seem... I'll never give up hope on future versions of Firefly/Serenity.

I knew it. I just knew it. I like Universal, but business is business it seems. The OB was to promote the movie, no more. That's why I never joined, untill recently, and that was just to read Nathan's holiday message. The OB always seemed like it was a tent, ready to be taken down at any time.
Oh well...
