New Season means New Players Needed!

The new season has been released and we at are EXTREMELY juiced for the stories which will be unfolding. We look to have a much broader range of character types: shepherds, companions, politicians, soldiers, criminals and, naturally, our silent heroes exploring the black.

As I said in my last post, the site is looking to return to relaxed role playing style, giving the players more freedom and returning to the original focus of the website - to explore the Verse through a character who is living in it.

Travel to the Repopulated Miranda Colony!!

The new season is not all repetition though. Our Brand New 'Verse is out of this world! Much to your surprise (I'm sure), the Independents loose the second War of Independence. But that doesn't mean the Alliance won. The Federation of the Concord Tribunal has replaced the Alliance, turning the once parliamentary system into a new unicameral Republic, not unlike the Roman Republic of old. The 'Verse will be far from perfect, of course, and the new Government will be no more innocent than any government before it.

New Factions means New Ways to Experience the Verse!

Here's a brief summary of the new Factions:
StarCon: At a time where lawlessness ruled the verse, and crime became everyones nature, a vision came to be. That vision would be StarCon (Specialized Tactical Armed Response of the Concord Tribunal). Designed by the Federation, it was created to act as a group of elite pilots versed in the art of tactics and strategy and trained in all aspects of combat from self defense to marksmanship. They are the keepers of peace in a war-stricken 'Verse.
- Serve the Federation, and kick some asses while your at it. BDH-style.

Artisans: There are, of course, those those who are neither soldiers nor criminals nor outcasts. These are the model citizens, representing the best in culture, faith, intelligence and good will. From Shepherds to Companions, musicians to tradesmen, Artisans live fulfilling lives within the confines of the law.
- role play your character free from the confines of action and violence.

Spacefarers: Every civilization has its underdogs; every society has its unwanted. For those who have found no place for themselves in the Verse, the warmth of space can be quite inviting. Spacefarers are less of a faction and more of a way of life. The spacefarers are maintained by a single universal saying: "keep flying."
- Our unsung heroes. Find a ship, make some money.

Underground Crime Syndicate: n a universe where illegitimacy reigns as a way of life, it is hard to distinguish the criminals from the common folk. When it comes to syndicates, this is simply not the case. A syndicate is a criminal organization which monopolizes criminal activity within its territory. To the Feds, they are an enemy, one which must be destroyed for the betterment of humanity. To the socially outcast, they are the employers and the suppliers; the only source of survival in a harsh world.
- The morally uninclined. Move up the ranks of your syndicate, at any cost.

Aside from these playable factions, we have so far introduced our first Non-Playable Faction (NPF), the Hand of Talis - a fanatic seperatist group bent on dismantling the FCT.

Don't want to crew a ship? Try your hand at politics!!

The website has undergone other interesting fixes & additions as well, including a new medium for expression - the Obituary Page, where diseased players may post about their death. Because death is never the end. And the site remains dedicated to its other services: a medium for creative writing (Firefly material and otherwise); a live chat platform (via IRC); a Serenity merchandise store; a source for connecting with fellow Browncoats.

So come check us out, you have more reasons than ever before! Even if you're not a role player, I ask that you come read our game stories (we archive them all!) and see how we at Lost in Serenity give the 'Verse "An FF feel in an RPG".

Please leave any questions or comments.

I would just like to say that a charracter type you have forgotten is the ship its self. It has so much charracer in it that you really get a feel for what it is and why mal loved it so much. So I think that we should add ship to your "role PLaying" game or wat ever it is.

Lost In Serenity has changed.

Lost In Serenity is now a play by post Role Playing Game currently set just prior to the events of the series. There is some interaction with members of the series. Niska is alive and well and forming his empire. Badger and company are working the docks. Mr. Universe is just now making his presence known. "You cant stop the signal" is just now begining to have meaning in the 'Verse. Mal is finding his Serenity. Come and be a part of the 'Verse that shaped a series. You just might run into a few folk that you didn't want to meet. Or maybe you did

It can be found at

Anyone can log on and make a character and play in Joss Whedons 'Verse.

Captain Caille Jensen and the Heracles may just have to make an appearance.

Captain Caille Jensen

Browncoat through and through, more oft than not I have found myself adrift in the black, wondering if I had enough in me to keep flying.
