Y'know I always wondered what the thinking was behind the Cylons' invention in new BSG; I mean, what are the practical applications ofsomething like that outside of war? The assumption I guess I'd made was that they'd discovered AI prior to the Cylons, but if this is anything to go by, the Cylons are the first AIs to appear in this universe, full stop. Perhaps the originals were of a more manageable size a la original BSG?

Anyway, I wonder how this will fit into the big mystery of present day BSG, what with the religion of the machines and the very human desires they portray today?

It's all explained in BSG. The cylons used to be big metal robots to do menial tasks, then came the Cylon war and they left the 12 colonies after an armistice. In the intervening years the Cylons 'evolved' and then returned...

there's already a thread about this. 'N it's not cool, neat, exciting, or great. Thier taking what has quickly become one of the best shows on air & watering it down. do we really need a whole series about the cylon backstory while BSG is still being made. Again, love BSG, but too much too soon

Notice anythig particular 'bout our luck these past few days, any kind'a pattern'. You depend on luck you end up on the drift no fuel, no prospects, beggin for alliance make work getiin' towed off to the scrap out THAT AIN'T US NOT EVER
