Hey Browncoats!

Check out this recent interview with Chiwetel Ejiofo (the Operative from Serenity) I found!

http://filmforce.ign.com/articles/701/701650p1.html

It talks a little about the future of Firefly and the possibilites or lack there of for a sequel.

P.S. I am still waiting for my brown coat from Fallowmal, but I know you're busy, so when ever!

Much love from the 'verse

Capture me if you dare.

WHITEFALL

Wow, I just read this, and it hurt... really, that Ejiofor, a damned smart guy and versatile actor (from assassin to crossdresser) ... well I want to say he misinterpreted Serenity, but... well, he didnt.

"I mean, Serenity was different in the sense that it was a very kind of broad, operatic science fiction with all the great stuff that that has. And this is much more...it almost feels like a drama that just has a scientific, or a sci-fi touch because it's set in the future, but could easily be set in the present. So they were very distinct in that sense, and there's not that kind of idea of loads of green screen and massive wires. You know, there's not that kind of operatic science fiction feel to it...to Children of Men."

Bah, what he just described, 'a drama that just ahs a scifi touch because it's set in the future'... that's Firefly, through and through, and it really kinda irks me to see someone so close to the project... well, it's sad. I just wish this damned film industry was the sort of place that could put a bunch of lowest denominator anti-heros in a full length movie.

"But, these strong women characters?"

"Why aren't you asking 100 other guys why they don't write strong women characters?" -Joss Whedon

CAUSAL

Well, I'm glad that at last we have some kind of word in print about Serenity's DVD sales. "Continuously strong" sounds pretty good to me...
