Just this morning, I was listening to NPR on my local radio station. On it was an article about downloading guitar tablature for popular songs, and how the RIAA is going against folks who work out the chords in pop songs like they have against people who download the actual songs. A guitar player starts to play a song whose tablature he's just downloaded, and I hear "Take my love, take my land...!" Go Browncoats!

Here's the hyperlink to the NPR article:

Thanks for the information about the article. Downloading tabs is something I've been doing for a long time. I use guitar sites often for music, tabs and tuning instrucitons... i've found a lot of useful information (different turnings of 12-string guitars was very helpful).

I don't read music so much as play by ear and i rely on some of thise sites to learn. Hopefully the music industry will reconsider going after these sites, but the way things go these days, i'm not surprised at this action.

BTW... i learned the chords for the Firefly theme by posting on this board... lots o'pickers around here...

May not be smart, and it may not please you, but you're definitely gonna see what I have to say.

The RIAA is a bunch of money-grubbing hundans that want to fleece people for all they're worth. I mean, for Joss-sake, tablature? Explain to me how they're losing buckets of money over this? If anything, looking for tab will help to bolster one's appreaciation for music, which in turn could lead to purchasing more music.

Joss created the Alliance to be a "Big Brother" kind of entity far in the future. The sad thing is, it's already here.

EDIT: On the more positive side, yay to NPR for airing our Big Damn Theme Song.

YeeHaw! I'm a big guitar player, and I'm a huge fan of tabs. Oddly enough I was just trying to figure out the tabs for the theme! Awesome, though! That's like a gorram miracle. I listen to NPR all the time too, abd I missed it. Anyway, thanks for putting it out!
