Some interesting changes are happening in the SCI FI TV industry.

StarGate SG1 which is going to be cancelled after the 10th season is going to have upcoming SG-1 DVD movies.

on StarGate SG1 10th season: "Don't hold your breath for major story-line wrap-ups. You'll have to check that out int he upcoming SG-1 DVD movies" page 32 of the December 4-10 TV guide.

And Direct to DVD or even on TV doesn't mean we won't see them on the Big Darn Screen. We know how to arrange screenings of DVDs and films. See http://www.cantstoptheserenity.com/ In 2006, fans of Serenity arranged 47 charity screenings of Serenity and raised "over $65,000" for charity. Six organizers already signed up for the 2007 June 23, 2006 charity Serenity Screenings.

on Battlestar Galactica episode on the Big Darn Screen:

b]Know any Battlestar Galactica fans around Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, LA, NYC or St. Louis?

go to www.tvguide.com/screening for details and free ticket to December 14, 2006 screening of the mid-season finale of Battlestar Galactica.

You can also see an ad on page 67 of the December 4-10 TV guide for this.

The screenings are happening at Landmark theaters. Remember all the Landmark theater screenings of Serenity in November?

Exclusive look at the Buffy the Vampire Comic Book Season 8 page 31. Whole page. Here is hoping they do the same for 2007's Serenity: Better Days comic book.

Dang! That's good-ass news for Firefly--if the SG-1 DVD's make money, there's no saying they won't do it for other cancelled series's with good fanbases (read: BROWNCOATS).

I'd encourage everybody who even sorta likes SG-1 to go buy these DVD things, just to show the SCIFI people that this model can work.

I know one thing we did right
was the day we started to fight.
Keep your eyes on the prize
hold on, hold on...
