So I'm sure you all heard by now that Flanvention was canceled abruptly and people were out hundreds of dollars. Well, the LA browncoats and the cast had a Flan B and it turned out to be shiny. It even made some headlines. Here's one:

I was there from Thursday night at 8:00 PM, unitl I left this morning. When I checked into the Burbank Hilton on 12/7, a friend gave me a big hug and told me Flan was off. Thanks Celsas, for holding me up while I caught my breath!

One minor correction in the orginal post. It wasn't just the SoCal Browncoats who gave us a Browncoat Back-up Bash (3B as we called it). It was the California Browncoats as a group. Most of the organizing was done by Adam from the San Francisco Browncoats. He and his crew did an amazing job.

Thanks to all who made it possible: to the talent who showed up on their own time; to everyone who donated so we would have funds; and to everyone who worked so hard to make the weekend a sucsess.

A special thanks to the Hilton for honoring the convention pricing on our room and for not booting us out of the lobby and halls where we gathered in large numbers since we couldn't rent conference areas.

Another special thanks to the Bedlem Bards who sang anyplace we gathered, in the lobby, by the pool and finally when we had an organized place for them. Their music was wonderful!

It was nice seeing the talent behind the show, but for me, the best part was meeting Browncoats from all over the world.
