Hey all, Just on my way out to celebrate the night before turkey day, and just thought I'd mention something me and a few other local browncoats have been doing for the past few weeks.

Stealth Shindigs

It's really quite simple, find yourself a group of hard livin' Browncoats, dress them up as BDH's and hit a bar. Hard. The preferred style of clothing amongst my group is Jayne T-shirts (thank you cafepress.com) with combat pants, but we do also have people dressing up as Mal, Book, Kaylee, Wash (guilty as charged), no Inara clones yet, the ladies in our group say it's too damn cold to go out dressed up as her (mind you, with temperatures approaching 0 degrees C, I don't blame them.

All most other people see when we're out, is a bunch of mates out on the town, but they do get confused with the Mandarin swearing, which means we can get away with the kind of stuff that'd normally start a bar brawl, plus, you get much better service in a Chinese restaurant if you speak at least a few words of chinese.

NCBROWNCOAT

I've worn my Serenity chinese character necklace to a local Chinese restaurant but no one has said a thing. I do get good service though. BTW the restaurant is named Dragonfly, but the art work looks like a Firefly.

I try to wear 'Verse clothes and insignia in some way everyday.

Not overtly.. but it's always there and it does get comments and questions.
