How many people are interested in Roleplaying, specifically in a Firefly setting? Is it as scarce as it seems to be?

Well, that depends on what you're looking for. I've seen a few very cool, very organized text-based web RPGs. There's www.bigdamnverse.net, for starters. I'd suggest the BDV if that's what you want, but on the Big Damn Board ( www.bigdamnboard.com) there's a directory for RP sites.
