Hi all,

I've watched two episodes of "Tru' Calling" with Eliza Dushku by now and so far I like it. It seems to lean more in a less-fantasy-more-who-done-it direction and just uses the excuse of dead-people-talking. The cast seems large enough to allow a lot of stories to be told and they do seem to care about the characters, so I will continue to follow it for now.

What do you guys think? Whats the potential of this show on the evil network Fox?

Merl

I've seen three episodes. It's okay, but I won't stay home just to watch it or set my VCR. I've seen as many episodes of "The Dead Zone," and I find that more interesting.

I hate the show Tru Calling. The premise is fine, unfortunately, the dialogue is stilted. The writing and the story composition is ENTIRELY wrong and how dumb must an audience be for the writers to find it necessary to tell us at least 28 times per episode that "TRU RE-LIVES THE PAST 24HRS AND NO ONE KNOWS" except maybe her pea-brained brother.
The show is garbage. Nice try for Eliza Dushku but someone should really get her involved with quality writers on a consistent basis.

It's really just a ripoff of 'early edition', and that being a ripoff of an even older show.

It's not like hollywood's had an original idea in the past 30some years yanno.

Not to mention the show itself is awful, which is hard knocks for Eliza I guess, she made a better slayer than Buffy in my eyes, but a show this bad can drag careers down with it, and that's a shame.

In short, it reeks.

I wonder if Tru Calling will make it to the UK. Does anyone have any news on this?

I'd like to see it - if only for the Eliza Dushku factor.

Book: “A duel?”
Wash: “With swords?”
Simon: “The Captain's a good fighter, he must know how to handle a sword?”
Zoe: “I think he knows which end to hold.”

NIGHTMARCHER

so far the show has been good enough to catch every episode. it does have some entertainment value to speak of. i do have a few gripes about it though. WARNING!!! SLIGHT SPOILERISMS

first, being a former track star myself i can't see how eliza's character could've been an allstar. she runs like i screw... all over the place. no form or technique to be seen at all. she doesn't have the typical build of a runner. and on top of all of this (sorry eliza, i love ya but...) the girl has put on some weight since her buffy days. normally runners have pretty good physiques.

gripe numero dos: i agree that harrison must be a complete moron. how many frickin times does tru have to tell him what she does?? redundancy never makes for good entertainment. why not just show the same episode 22 times and call it a season. thankfully, as of episode 10, it looks like good 'ol harry might just be on the bandwagon.

next we got a "reformed" cokehead for the sister. just smack her upside her head and get on with saving people already. the woman obviously feels the need to lie about it all the time. let the wench fry. so what if she's your sister

characters have some pretty good development going on. all in all i'd give this show a 8 despite my harsh review on it. would've been 7 if it wasn't for hottie a.j. cook. yum. it's a damn shame that it's on friday night though. cause as all of us loyal fox viewers know, friday night is a death sentence for ANY show no matter how good it is. dark angel, john doe, firefly to name a few. oh yeah, our mrs. reynolds (yosafbridge) does happen to make a cameo in episode 9, check it out. crazy as ever!
