OK, so a while back, someone mentioned that they were opening a Bar/Grill/Pub/Theater with a SciFi/Browncoat theme/name.
Somewhere in the Carolinas IIRC.
Anybody recall the details? Mrs. Me, Mini Me & I are considering a road trip over spring break, and thought it would be a good destination.

One of the principals in that establishment is a person of my acquaintance , and I've met some of the others...

What I know is that the Opening of The Brown Coat Pub & Theatre should be real soon now , practically imminent ,
but that there have been some minor snags due to municipal-type issues...
Which are apparently close to resolution...

I can tell you that the folk at the Pub will be enthusiastic to know of your interest , particularly because troopers of the 76th will be all manner of welcome...

The Brown Coat Pub is located at 111 Grace Street in historic downtown Wilmington , North Carolina , a place with great potential for Browncoat Shindig-gery...

While you're hereabouts , perhaps you'd like to tour the Battleship North Carolina , the Civil War historic site at Fort Fisher , the Revolutionary War battle site at Moore's Creek , or get involved in some of the other 'local color' that we have happenin'...

I'll be in email contact with the Browncoats of the pub , and let 'em know we need another update in this thread...

This town is basically family-friendly , and I understand that that's the intention with the Pub , too...

Anytime now , even for about a month yet , the azaleas will be 'real pretty' 'round here , so the missus and your other kin will probably find the environs to their likin'...

Sounds like a neat place to visit! Hope they have a guitar player front and center who can play “The Hero of Canton” song. If I ever get there I’ll buy a round of mudders milk for everyone.

Thankee for the update!
I'll be keeping an eye on the boards for the "Now open for business" announcement.
If they don't make it for spring break, I'm sure they'll make it for the summer, and we'll enjoy a few days visiting either way.
