I may cry...Apparently Nathan Fillion and Ron Glass are going to be in Sydney this weekend...I live a mere 2.5 hours away...but it'll be Mother's day and my mum would be understandably peeved if the one child living in this country stood her up instead of helping her celebrate 40 years of mother hood. Also I am drowning in major University assessments and not even the mild prospect of meeting two of the people involved in my favourite passtime, would justify me going to Sydney on the off chance I could hear them speak...bugger! shoot me now.

Take your mother, Boris. What a great mother's day present. The physical presence of two BDHs, and a lovely day trip to Sidney.

The English would rather have a nice cup of tea than talk about anything as icky as sex!

I thought about that, to any other Mum it would be a lovely day out and a chance to lsiten to the intelligence and humour of two lovely gentlemen. but My mother a) would see that as me being selfish and be mightily miffed. B) hates Sydney....she'd never let me forget it. The tirade would be in Sicilian, involve a lot of gesturing, and would go like this: " Oh my God Rosaria! I gave birth to you, I put up with your odd ways and aversion to hugs! I tolerated your strange obsessions!I invested my life in turning you into an acceptably functional adult! how dare you try to make my day about you! etc. etc. I love my Mum but Mother's day is her day and it only works if we let her direct it.
To be honest, I think on a subconscious level I wouldn't want to meet any BDH's I think I'd be awkward and overwhelmed. If I ever met Joss, I would probably drown him in questions.

Pretty hard to fault a child holding mother above entertainment and 'selfish' interests.

Maybe a couple hours? A beauty shop makeover would be nice and it's win-win. Just an idea.

"It's from my mother."
