We are excited to announce that Jewel Staite (Kaylee, of course!) has accepted our invitation to do a half-hour Q & A before the movie. She will also be autographing some items for the silent auction.

The doors will open at 11 am and an array of activities will continue until 6 pm, including sing-along filking with local filker & Browncoat Cindy Turner; our own Brandon Klassen performing his Serenity songs, including "Sail the Sky"; a costume contest; door prizes and more. And, of course, the screening of Serenity! Keep checking our blog site for a list of prizes and up-to-date information.

We will be holding a silent auction, with some great items, which will be listed on our blog. Cash or cheque only for the auction, please.

In addition to raising money for Equality Now (Joss's favourite charity), this year 10% of the net proceeds will be going to support the BC Women's Hospital and Health Centre, so let's show them how generous Browncoats are!

Through the generosity of UBC's Film Society, we have the theatre for the whole day. The theatre seats 397 people in brand new seats complete with cup-holders, is wheelchair accessible, and you may bring your own food, although they do have a concession stand which we ask that you patronise for popcorn, drinks and candy. Otherwise, feel free to 'brown bag' it or bring in food from a nearby restaurant.

We aim to make this day a fantabulous one, so bring your friends, bring your family or come by yourself and meet new friends.

Tickets are $15 per person and are available via PayPal (with $1 added service charge) through our blogsite, http://serenityscreeningvan.blogspot.com/ (the button is at the bottom of the page, so please scroll down)and from Happy Bats Cinema, 198 East 15th Avenue, just west of Main Street, Vancouver.

The CSTS 2008 T-shirt will be available for preorder through the blog sitel, but must be ordered and paid for by May 15th. The shirts are available in men's and women's sizes and will be $20 each (plus $2 service charge through PayPal). You can view the T-shirts on our blog.

Hello again, Anonymous1 (thanks Anon, I hadn't noticed when I copied it!) has pointed out that the link to the tickets wasn't working so I've fixed that now on the above post, and it's here again:

So great that Jewel Staite can make it again this year. I wish I could be in Vancouver! Awful generous of her to donate her time and you guys in BC are so lucky to have an original BDH living nearby. I've never seen the BDM on the big damn screen and wish that I could. But there aren't too many Browncoats here in Seoul, Korea. Someone in Vancouver give a big hug to Jewel on June 22 from the rest of her fans who can't make it.

Oh, Vancouver! You are so lucky. I atended a Q&A with Jewel before. There are all the expected questions of course, about Firefly & Serenity. But there were many more funny questions. And she handles all with grace and humor.

You guys are in for a treat! I wish I lived closer.
