I couldn't help myself! I used that line in a test I gave my French IV class yesterday. They have just finished reading "The Song of Roland". The hero, Roland, delays summoning help by blowing on his super-duper horn because he doesn't want to be considered a hero. The time delay costs roughly 40,000 lives. Zoe's line worked in perfectly as an essay prompt. Can't stop the signal!

Ayep, mighty interestin stuff, innit ?

Here's something amusing as hell for ya...
The Rolling Stones song Jumpin Jack Flash is loosely inspired by the Lay of Roland.

Durandal is one of the "Three Great Blades" of the age, along with Joyeuse and Curtana.

They've never done a good video adaptaion of this story, but it'd be pretty cool if they did.
