Heard this on the news and am so excited I
can hardly stand myself. Just jumping up and
down. There *will* be extrasolar planets we
can use, and we are going to find them sooner
than many of us had expected.
I was so thrilled that I posted about it in chrisisall's
thread before I saw this one.

We'd better remember to take the best possible
care of what is still at this point (pending
surprises) our one and only home, the big blue
marble.

My vision has never been the FF/Serenity
vision of the used-up Earth, a choking trash
heap from which we must escape, but one of
this as our home base, the Old Planet, from
which we venture forth into the Universe.

Either way, it has to last a long while.
