were i to suddenly stumble upon an adequately large sum of money, there is very little that would stop me from using said money to buy a large tract of land as a sanctuary for turtles, and offering joss and the cast their show back... yeah that would be shiny...

unfortunately i don't have a large sum of money, and i begin, after several years now as a firefly fan, to wonder if we will see our wonderful show again, or a sequel, or at least more comics...

i don't mean to pessimistic but it's like firefly is fadng from peoples minds! i need some reassurance from my fellow browncoats that there is still some flickering hope left, that someone is still willing to fight for firefly, in short; i need t know we're still flying.

Oh I'm thinkin' we'll rise again ;) and we're definitely still flying.

http://stillflying.net/ (just in case you haven't happened by it yet)

Needless to say I think Firefly will continue to grow and flourish in the eyes of the ever-growing number of fans it seems to be gaining. I've sworn the same thing should I happen upon a large sum of money, I love the show that much XD

Judging from what I've seen on this site alone, (not to mention out in the real world), Firefly is far from fading in a great many people's minds. And I know it'll never fade from mine ^_^

Been a long time on the back burner, or the back lot, if you will.

Much as I'd like to say otherwise, I'm accepting of where we are and that we'll have a message without forum.

But to be a Browncoat it's gotta be in your heart, so my heart tells me to keep hope.

Just do it. SOmeone in a studio stand up and say something can come of this. the money won't ever be great but it should be enough to cover a good telling.

It always does my heart good to see our site referenced in threads like this...

In point of fact, we don't really need to rise again because we haven't fallen. Besides all the fan support, there's more official support in the form of things like QMX's continually growing product line and roleplaying supplements (Six-Shooters & Spaceships was released just this week: http://www.rpgnow.com/product_info.php?products_id=58998).

In a more official capacity, there's at least one comic book miniseries planned for 2009. Does it scratch the itch the way it should? Nope. But it DOES mean that we ain't done.

Although there are no official plans for movie or television sequel, I think the fact that all of the comic stories occur BEFORE the movie is somewhat telling. Right now, we know absolutely nothing of the moment after the movie finishes, and I suspect that's intentional on Joss's part. The future is a great big, wide open field he can play with somewhere down the line.

We just have to accept that the future might be a year, or three, or even ten years away... Be patient for now, and enjoy the breadcrumbs we DO get.

People are going to be framing these pretties and putting them on walls...where others will see them and wonder...
