Not to steal this away from the OP, but I also just finished watching firefly and then serenity for the first time. It's now up there at no.2 on my favourite tv shows (lost, firefly, heroes, sopranos, scrubs).

Fav character was Mal. The character was great I thought. A hard man, but a good man...well..he's alright. And i've been a fan of NF since 2 guys, a girl and a pizza place.

I can't think of a good reason why I have only just watched this now, at the age of 21. I even spent all summer working in the pacific ocean on a ship...but I never got round to watching it (a dude on board had the set) Then I was introduced to Dr Horrible recently , and the Whedon fanboy in me came back to life...as I was a big fan of buffy and angel (less so) way back.

Anyway. Excellent stuff. Glad I finally watched it.
