Me and my wife have 4 kids,Austin 15,Colby 13,Chandler 11,and Samuel 8.They all love Firefly/Serenity.Some more than others, but they all love it.I was surprised they bought into it so well.It really is,in my opinion, more itelligent than say Star Wars. There's no ewoks,Jar Jar,or anything like that for kids to latch onto.It explores relationships(sometimes too much so,it was a little awkward watching Heart of Gold)loyalty, family dysfunction, abuse of power, and alot of adult themes.
It just surprises me how well they get this show.I try to explain things to the younger ones when the show gets really more adult. We also talk about them being heroes, but not really.Again most of the time there is no need, they really understand the concept.I was just wondering if other parents had kids who were fans.

No kids yet, but I've used snippets of Firefly to teach social skills ( Jayne makes a great example of what NOT to do) and the kids are riveted by it

Ahh! Jayne, our lovable lunk with the social skills of a, words can't descirbe him. LOL I'd have never have thought of that, MsA. It's a good idea though.

BTW I'm still finding things I haven't seen before and I've lost count of how many times I've seen the BDS and BDM.
