Rewatching "Ariel" and the flashbacks in "Safe" always makes me particularly happy because we catch some rare glimpses of life at the height of civilization and wide-spread luxury.

It may SEEM very much like our own life, but there must be a ton of weird little futuristic quirks that we never got to see!

What fancy new inventions do you think we missed? What is living there like? How do they spend their time off? How do they shop, shower, cook, call their mom, do their homework?

Do they all use sleek hover cars?

Do they have fully prepared Thanksgiving Turkeys from a box? Just add boiling water, stir and serve?

Do babies learn maths before they can speak?

Do shoes come in one foot-adaptable size?

Are gym clothes equipped with health sensors?

Do diapers give a short chime to notify parents that a change is in order?

Any particular ideas for the frivolous or ingenious benefits of Core life?

How about....

1. Stereographic Hawaiian shirts.

2.Definately JETPACKS! -Still can't understand why we don't have those now ?

3.Lazer toothbrushes.

4.Self wrapping duvets.

5.A hovering light above you so as to provide suitable illumination when going down a dark street.

6.Cloud making machine, for those farmers wanting to water their crops.

7.Clothes that need no ironing.

8.Clothes that inflate once they detect a person will take a hard fall to the floor.

9. Houses to be equiped with Antigravity rooms - to prepare you for space travel.

10.Kenetic energy storing boots. As you walk the energy generated is stored in battery packs housed within your shoes/boots. That way you always have energy for your electronic gadgets, be they iPhones, games consoles, holographic imaging systems etc.

11.Formula 1 cars that hover across a track.

12.Pocket worm hole generators.

Just a few off the cuff.

Oh and a printer that works!!! Why is it all other technology advances just fine - but printers are so bloody temperamental?

I'd especially love the light that hovers and clothes that need no ironing. And the energy storing shoes sound like a good idea. And the beeping diapers would have been a life saver about 19 and half years ago.

Here are some of mine in no particular order:

1.Safe,clean and on time mass transit.

2.Video screens that connect to a vast library of entertainment and informative programs and books instantly.

3.Clothes that don't have to be washed.

4.Vacations on exotic planets and moons.

5.Individualized education for every student.

6.High tech medicine available for everyone.

And I second the need for a reliable printer. I don't print much but what I do print is vital.
