AP - Police in Nairobi, Kenya, say they've arrested the half-brother of President Barack Obama for alleged possession of marijuana.

The local police chief says George Obama had one joint of marijuana on him. The police chief tells The Associated Press that George Obama "is not a drug peddler," but adds that marijuana is a banned substance and illegal.

George Obama is in his 20s and barely knows the president. While several of President Obama's Kenyan relatives went to Washington, D.C., for his inauguration, he was not among them.

George is the youngest of the senior Obama's seven children, born six months before his father died in a 1982 car crash. Media reports about him surfaced over the summer, after a magazine article said he lived in a shack and earned a dollar a day. George Obama has called the reports insulting and has said he's studying to be a mechanic.
