I have some favorites:

-PRONG: Beg to Differ

-NAPALM DEATH: Scum

-DEATH ANGEL: Frolic through the Park

-ANTHRAX: Among the Living(Very cool)

-OVER KILL: The Years of Decay

-MEGADETH: So Far, So Good, So What.(Amazing album)

-ATROPHY: Socalized Hate(catchy guitar riffs)

-CORONER: R.I.P(generic band and album name...great music).

-ANNIHILATOR: Alice in Hell(Canada's answer to Metallica)

-LAAZ ROCKIT: Annihilation Principle.(Worth it for "Fire in the Hole")

-DEATH:Spiritual Healing(You know that band "Eagles of Death Metal" This is the band that spawned that phrase)

-RIGOR MORTIS: (Fantastic horror/speed metal band from Texas. Listen to Mike Scaccia's blazing guitar)

-MELLIAH RAGE: Kill To Survive(lesser known band, but great music)

-SEPULTURA: Schizophrenia. (WOW...just wow)

-SUICIDAL TENDENCIES: How will I laugh Tomorrow When I can't even Smile Today(Makes me want to move to California...I couldn't tell you why).

-WEHRMACHT: Shark Attack(SHARK ATTACK!!!)

Next month my favorite Seattle Grunge music from the late 80's until it died.

Enjoy!!

I forgot to mention the Freaks EP from Rigor Mortis.

It has two standout songs
Cattle Mutilation which is good but the insanely catchy, mostly instrumental Six Feet Under/Worms of the Earth is an absolute mind blower. Almost 10 minutes in length, this musically light hearted lightning fast song breaks the logic of traditional music. It almost qualifies as musical lunacy. Catchy as a top 40 pop song, yet faster and harder than most of Metallica's early works. I spent the summer of 89' listening to much of the metal music mentioned above. Great summer!

Nice list, I'll have to check out some of the ones I've never heard before. I've seen Megadeth and Metallica, Prong and Sepultura opened for Pantera when I saw them in concert. I quit going to Metal concerts when I realized I was double the age of the next oldest attendee. Most of my buddies lost their taste for Metal with age I'm happy it did'nt happen to me. I listen to more Bluegrass music now than Metal but my neck still starts snapping when I here a good Metal tune.

Prong: Snap You Fingers, Snap Your Neck

Never did really go for the speed metal stuff. My metal days were more Judas Priest & Iron Maiden - late 70s/early 80s era.

There is something I kinda like about Suicidal Tendencies, though.

I went to a Megadeth concert for the first time 3 years ago. It's just amazing to hear them live. The concert I was at Dave Mustaine(and the rest of the band) played an absolute flawless set. They are beyond technical. I saw Metallica in 1991. Even being a huge fan at the time, I remember thinking how poor, and sloppy they sounded that night.

UFO are far from being a relatively undiscovered band. You could even say that they were one of many a precursor to heavy metal.

Never really into speed metal myself, but i can warmly recommend Autopsy, early Death, Atheist, Morbid Angel, Entombed, Carcass, etc.

I guess I have always favored Thrash/Speed Metal over Death metal.
Of the bands you mentioned, I especially liked Carcass.

Entombed wasn't bad either.

Another great "precursor" everyone has heard, just not the right songs.

PEACEKEEPER

Keeping order in every verse

The most classic album of all time is undoubtedly "Iron Fist" by Motorheed. Also the "another Perfect Day" album is grossly underrated.Think fans slagged it because of Brian Robertson. But I thought he was awesome.
