Amazing car control and great driving ability, but all that sliding and drifting stuff is NOT the fastest way around a paved course.

But if they'd have told him to use the best line and get his fastest time, it wouldn't have been near as entertaining to watch.

Still, my hat's off to his car control abilities.

a significant factor is the car itself, though he can definitely drive.

Ken's a rally driver. The way he drives is the fastest way around on a dirt back road.

While largely ignored in the US, Pro Rally has some of the best drivers on the planet. Bar none.

You drive a back road at over 100 mph. Oh did I mention that is now raining and the quaint dirt country road you are on has now turned into something with the grip of an inflatable kiddie pool filled with baby oil? And you have to do this as fast as possible against the clock while the guy in the passenger seat tells you what the road ahead is even though neither of you have ever seen it in your lives and all you have for directions is left turn, right turn, hairpin and crest.

Nascar, Indy and F1 go faster but the road never changes and you get plenty of laps to practice...
