I know! Cool. Seems SiFi (oops; SyFy) is looking for 'franchises' - somebody want to give them a idea?????

It's going to be done by Syfy?

I don't know. I have faith in Tim, but Syfy doesn't exactly have a great track-record of movies/shows. The best one, in my opinion, is Eureka. Though, I never got into any of the Battlestar Galactica shows or any like that.

I'll definitely check it out. Yay Tim!

Sci-Fi or SyFy does not like spending alot on their shows. Tim is great, I hope he doen't need alot of FX on the show.

Eureka is their best effort so far. The Dresden Files was pretty good, but didn't make the cut. Didn't they back Spielberg's "Taken" way back when?

I won't write it off just because SyFy is behind it - I'll check it out because of Minear's involvement - but the SyFy/SciFi brand DOES give me pause.

Changing its name to Idiocracy, uh, SyFy... is that how to go BK, terminate your debts, export offshore and get a govt bailout?

Illegal Alien Nation, that name makes me want to

Predictive programming not cool anymore.

I loved the old movie and show. Then a friend pointed out to me that every week the premise was, "The aliens were keeping a secret that was kept hidden until . . . " and that weakened it a little bit for me. If Tim can steer clear of that, I'm all for it. But at LEAST put in a guest appearance from Mandy Pitinkin as an elderly Newcomer Show the original movie some love, Tim!

I agree about Eureka. I like that one a lot. Missed Dresden completely. I'm kinda looking forward to Warehouse 13, too.

I hadn't thought that I'd like a remake of this, but with Minear in charge...I'm definitely interested. :)

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

I like the movie, and even enjoyed the short lived series. If Tim is the driving force behind the remake I am sure it will be good & I will tune in. Hopefully SyFy doesn't hamstring him on the budget.
