North Carolina farmers send off turkey to be "pardoned" by President Obama, 300-million not so lucky.

President Barack Obama will address the nation on his new strategy for the war in Afghanistan Tuesday night from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point.

Military officials expect the president will deploy about 35,000, starting next year.
The president says the American people will support his strategy once they understand the perils of losing the war.

Have a nice Thanksgiving folks. For some who will follow their orders as pawns of empire, it will be the last one they ever know.

I would fully support an "Obama is a turkey" picture, statement, or article here.

...Gonna NEED a presidential pardon... So pissed off about this.

Thanks Yin Yang. :) I don't know if you or anyone else here supports Obama anymore, but I won't abuse the picture you have given me, it's just satisfying to see my frustration and sentiments graphically expressed.

Also, nice edit. The tail feathers halo his head for an additional layer of irony.

Don't thank me; I just found it on the Internet. I have about zero Photoshopping skills.

I'm impressed by the internet that this picture has appeared so quickly, and slightly disheartened over my own apparent lack of creativity.

But thanks again. :)

I believe in solving problems, not sharing them.

With every Prez who pardons a turkey, I think about the peeps who died as a direct results of Prez policies. Why do we accept the sound bite/ photo-op as "cute", year after year?

I think most people aren't thinking about presidential policies when they consider the turkey pardoning to be cute.

DREAMTROVE

It's amazingly peaceful here. There's very little partisan bickering, or even left right crossfire. We're all pretty disappointed. We had hopes they faded. Nice photoshop, stolen, but overall, I have to agree with John. This war looks like a suicide mission minus the mission.

The Iraq war was a policy choice I disagree with, but it's mostly over, and there were people who wanted us there. Central asia, in a territory not clearly defined, with no clearly defined goal, and no popular support from any population living there, I can't see this as any less than a disaster. I'm not sure that even if there were an objected that either the new increase in US forces, or the increase in drone attacks on civilian villages serves any master other than chaos, and slaughter. I'm not sure what interests the administration serves, but as of now, I officially don't care, I can't support it or be indifferent.

(Oh the pain, so few people get my Buffy references...)
