Marriage

The first man married a woman from the Philippines.
He told her that on top of her one fulltime and two par-time jobs,

she was to cook, do the dishes and keep the house clean..

The next day, he came home to see a clean house, dishes washed

and put away and a home cooked meal.

The second man married a woman from South America.

He gave his wife orders that she was to do all the cleaning, dishes and the cooking.

The first day he didn't see any results, but the next day he saw it was better.

By the third day, he saw his house was clean, the dishes were done and there was

a huge dinner on the table.

The third man married a girl from CANADA.

He ordered her to keep the house cleaned, dishes washed, lawn mowed,

laundry washed, and hot meals on the table for every meal.

He said the first day he didn't see anything, the second day he didn't see anything either,

but by the third day, some of the swelling had gone down and he could see a little out of

his left eye, and his arm was healed enough that he could fix himself a sandwich and load
the dishwasher.

He still has some difficulty when he pees.

If the man expects the woman to be his servant, sure.

Okay everyone, raise your hand if Wulfie's response was at all surprising.

I bet you dream of finding girl #1. Oh, wait, I take that back. She'd be the wrong pigment.

Oh good gawd, Wulf:
Quote:

That's SUCH a reach, it's truly pathetic! Exactly how many women get husbands from another culture and dominate them?? How many of those husbands would stand for such demands?? You just saw an excuse to come out

Sorry, but , it truly DOES speak to your prejudices, big time. Not a second of thought given to the actual joke or its meaning, not a second given to the absolute impossibility of reversing the positions, just a visceral leap to a conclusion you can use to snark.

It doesn't need saying that I abhor violence, be it against any sex or species; but I'll tell 'ya, if a guy said that to ME, be he from another culture or my own, I'd just leave; if anyone tried to enforce it, they'd be in for some serious hurt. Disdain for violence doesn't extend that far.

Too bad you don't THINK about what you write before your little fingers get busy--people would snark at you less. Not that you care; I grokked long ago that you love the attention and being the "bad guy", the focus. Negative attention is better than none, poor little man, isn't it?

Right Niki, amazing how you would claim that.

But consider that when I was enraged over the brutal gang-rape of an innocent, you said that you would do nothing.

I guess if they had been trying to force her to wash some dishes, you would have gone all Crouching Tiger on them.

You guys crack me up. You have zero experience, yet want to judge others.

But hey, to each their own, and all opinions are worth something.

Show me where I said I would do nothing at the gang rape, I dare you! If I remember correctly, I said I would probably have dived in, which wouldn't have done anyone any good but I'm not too smart about such things and don't think. If I neglected to say so at the time, it's what would have happened. I KNOW I said that both using a cell phone to call police would have been smarter, and that (I think it was Frem)'s idea of using a car was one I'd never thought of and probably smarter! You don't seem to remember who said what very clearly.

Thank you Gino, I'm glad YOU remember the truth!

The rest show clearly just how pathetic you are Wulf and warrant absolutely no response...sometimes you actually manage to blow me away with your assininity. I remind myself most of the time that you just want the attention, so refrain from responding, but this one was directed at me.

It's a shame you use this place 99% of the time just to enjoy snarking for attention, rather than engaging in real discussions like most of the rest of us. It's a total waste of your time, and ours. No, all opinions aren't worth something, most often yours and PN's.

Like I said, you will do neither because you're not much of a man.

But we already got that.

Yanno why?

Your endless fascination with violence and heroism shows that you live drenched in fear. Yep. FEAR. You're constantly reacting to shit as if your life was at stake, whether it is or not. You're unbalanced. Unable to turn off the fear. And this is what you do to go to sleep at night. Constantly reassuring yourself against the fear in your own head with thoughts of violence.

Good luck with that dude. It's exactly the wrong thng to do.

So here's a shovel.. you can dig yourself deeper.

What's so funny is that, though he's obviously oblivious to it, all his hero schtick in regards to the gang-rape is so clearly less about helping the girl - and all about Wulfie indulging his hero delusions.

Reversing the joke makes no sense--jokes have to be at least somewhat sensible to be funny. To imagine that a woman would demand such things of her husband is ridiculous, because given whatever culture men are brought up in, it's the woman who is the homemaker and nobody would believe the reverse. The joke wouldn't work except that the cultures used are predictable in the male/female relationship. So that was stupid.

Which means nothing; your contributions to this thread make no more sense and are just ugly. Sig is right, I'd forgotten about that. Violence, fake heroism, and seeing everything in terms of life and death are a sign of fear. That's simply true...it's the people who pick on others consistently who are actually acting out of their own fear.

There's no hope of an apology or even you acknowledging that you were wrong in remembering what I said (if it was a memory lapse and not just something you pulled out of thin air); that's too civil and human. I'd suggest you get out of this thread, you HAVE dug yourself in too deeply already--the pic you posted is sick enough, your words even sicker. You've lost this one; let others enjoy the joke and take your ugliness elsewhere. Just a suggestion...

The problem I have with the joke is that there are far too many women who think they SHOULD be the breadwinners, AND the homemakers, the family nurse and confidante, and the sex partner, and far too many men who think the same. So it makes it point, but I kinda wince when I read it bc the first two are far too true.

Actually, I do a pretty damned good job of it.

The now-ex Fremgirl is seriously, horribly undomestic and mechanically inept besides, she's boardroom table corpo-exec type of people, and I am blue collar get thy hands dirty people, and rather skilled in domestic enterprises besides.

Besides, you wouldn't *WANT* her to cook, she once set the damn stove on fire trying to boil water!

When we were together I actually did the homemaker thing since I can direct most operations from the internet or telephone - and never did buy into that infantile macho bullshit about gender roles, cause someone who cannot cook, clean, and maintain a household has no business expecting anyone else to do it for them in a viable relationship, one should be lookin for a partner, not a parent.

Of course, you've no *idea* how much it rooks the ex Fremgirl to call upon me for assistance, despite that I don't mind and am ridiculously easy to bribe just *because* I know how much it annoys her, just being there is worth a couple dozen I-told-ya-so's without ever sayin a word.

We're still friends - but given her upbringing, she really doesn't have a clear idea what that means, but she's beginning to learn - I've no particular cause nor reason to help her whatever, and I do it soley because it is my wish to do so, because it makes her happy - a concept she's never really known and doesn't really understand...

Yet.

Anyhows, imma right damned good Housewife - hey, if you can have a male nurse, a male secretary, damned right a guy can hack domestic engineering, piss on gender roles and that whole patriarchal set of bullshit anyways, ain't it time we as a society grew the fuck up ?

Sometimes you can get around upbringing

When my wife a I were first dating, her car desperately needed a brake change. She asked me to do it, but instead I only did one side to show her how, then watched her do the other. She had never so much as changed a tire before that, and with her Dad not only doing it all, but also not involving her in it led her to believe she couldn't do it.

Now when doing repairs she is right into it, I spend as much time answering questions as working... and funny enough she catches me making the odd mistake.

Before we were married she couldn't do any handy work at all,

now she stops and helps other people change their tires, she drywalls, frames, does a little plumbing ( still won't do electrical... she just watches ) and enjoys it.

That doesn't seem to work. When no-one replies to him, he just carries on creepy little video-laden conversations with himself. Which, granted, affords a bit of entertainment in of itself....

I have a vote and I'm not afraid to use it!

I especially like the thread he started where out of something like 15 posts, 12 were to himself. Almost all videos, too. So delightfully pathetic.

I actually agree with Wulf here.

To me, the joke is in poor taste. Actually racist, too. Not my idea of funny.

OF COURSE! Thank you, I think I will.

But before I do, I want to point out that the reason I DO that (post clips)... is cus half you idiots can't read. You are "a·lit·er·ate" which is different from being "illiterate".

"a·lit·er·ate" being "Able to read but not interested in reading."

In other words, self-induced ignorance. And I have no pity for that.

So have a clip to enjoy yourselves on, and maybe to learn from.

Guess that makes me "avideo", then. I'm ABLE to watch your insipid clips, I just have no interest in doing so. :)

Are you SURE you want to go into accusations of illiteracy and aliteracy, Wulfie? You, who've never posted a meaningful quote, unless it came from a movie or a comic book? You, whose entire list of "heroes" comes down to movie and comic-book characters, and not a single literary character? You, who can't even spell the contraction "aren't"? You, who are completely unable to properly use the words like "its" and "it's"? Is that the road you want to start down, Wulfie?

By the way, I actually READ your posts. But I won't waste my time watching your videos, because if you can't tell me what you think and believe, in your own words, then I have no reason to "watch" what you think. :)

Learn to write it out. Posting videos isn't something you do because WE'RE too lazy - it's something you do because YOU'RE too lazy. Or because your every thought has been put into you through the TV.

Anyhows, imma right damned good Housewife - hey, if you can have a male nurse, a male secretary, damned right a guy can hack domestic engineering, piss on gender roles and that whole patriarchal set of bullshit anyways, ain't it time we as a society grew the fuck up ?

Ah yes, the much hated gender roles. Never fit into them properly since I was TWO. Not that people didn't try, but square peg, round hole.

Definitely think it's important for people to know how to cook, clean, and care for themselves. I like cooking not because I wanna be a housewife, it's because I want to EAT. Big difference. Mostly I just heat stuff out of cans, though I can make some mean desserts, cookies, and candy. They're cheap and I can give them to people as gifts.

The thing about gender roles, though, they're more than just what you DO. There's more double standards than just male nurse/female breadwinner. People expect you to "act like a lady." What does that even MEAN? Screw that. I like climbing in trees and stomping in puddles, and if someone tells me I have poor table manners, I'ma just glare and chew louder. I don't care about their pointless customs and rules. And dammit, I'm gonna swear if I want to, too!

Sometimes the best jokes are in poor taste (I may be a lib, but I'm not a PC zealot). And yeah, I could see it being taken as somewhat racist - the nationalities are unessential to the joke (obviously this variation came from a canuk), but the notion behind it is still funny.

Should just be 3 (generic) women. As folks in the discussion have pointed out - some women are perfectly willing/happy to take the subservient role. And others will kick the ass of anyone who demands they do. I'd rather hang with that one, myself.
