IMDB lists Zoe and Wash as having the last name Warren. Does anyone know where that comes from?

Also, the FF timeline on this site lists Wash as Jerry Lee Warren. Again, where did that come from?

That's made up. I think Joss has stated that Wash is short for "Washburn," but I could be making that part up myself, it just seems familiar. The name "Warren" was never mentioned on the show, either.

I believe you're right. Nathan said that Joss said it was Washburn, but that was all Nathan knew about that.

The whole "Jerry Lee" thing came from a MISTAKEN transcription of "Our Mrs. Reynolds." When some of the sabotage Saffron did to Serenity is finally fixed, Mal says, "Nice work, Kaylee." Nathan's delivery was a bit off and overly drawled and it is hard to hear the "Kaylee" part, and that somehow got interpreted as "Jerry Lee" (and it almost seems that Mal is talking to Wash at that point). But the line in the shooting script is "Nice work, Kaylee," and she is the one who answers Mal.

Hope that helps solve the mystery.

That seems to make sense, but I'm sure that on imdb.com they had under Firefly Alan Tudyk as Jerry Lee Warren.
I doubt that such a huge (and sometimes inaccurate) website got their info from a transcript. Unless its a fan doing it or something, I don't know...

That's the thing. Anybody can upload information to IMDb. That entry was probably made by a fan who thought the information was accurate.

Personally, until I hear it on the big screen, I'm not buying the Jerry Lee or the Warren.

The Washburn part, on the other hand...mmmeehh, still not sure.
