The very matter that makes up stars makes up US! Our evolution makes us HORNY. Pizza makes us live a full, rich life.
GOOD pizza, at any rate.

Thoughts?

I don't know if evolution makes us horny. There are creatures that die in order to reproduce. How many humans do you know would face death for a one night stand?

Now pizza I agree with. On the eighth day God invented the napkin to clean the pizza of his beard.

I'm rarely horny, and I'm also more excited about pizza than I am about sex...does that mean I'm de-volved or evolved?...

Pizza, GOOD pizza, is a survival necessity. Sex (GOOD sex) is an elective course.

I love your analogy. Good pizza in my world is Sicilian Pizza made by my Sicilian Mama. homemade base with just a scattering of garden fresh tomatoes, Mozarella, some provolone, a few anchovies, and oloive oil and basil. Yummers...I hate that stuff you get from delivery pizza place: buried in what passes as sauce, overtopped with far too much stuff too much cheese ergville!
and if there's no pizza to be had, Scacciatta comes in as a good substitute: Pizza base used as pastry, put one layer down in the pan, top with traditional fillings of either potatoes and onions, cauliflower onion and cheese, or spinach and cheese. cover with remaining pastry, cook, eat, live. I love my heritage.

When it's bad, it's still pretty good.

I just ended up with an essentially FREE pizza (and the good stuff at that) this weekend after the pizza place sort of screwed up my order. He couldn't get it to ring up correctly so sent a $10 gift cert. Then when the order arrived, the pizza was correct, but the accompanying salad was not...and there was no ranch dressing.

I called back, told him I could live with the salad, but I needed the ranch. They sent the ranch, with a corrected salad as well...and another $10 gift cert. :D Free Pizza...free yummy salad (they hvae the best Caesar dressing ever). It was good.

KATESFRIEND

Boris, I understand coeliac and I also understand pizza as a gift for the gods. What we do is assemble all the ingredients you would want on a pizza. We use onion, black olive, green and red pepper, cooked sausage, portobello mushroom, red sauce with fresh basil, oregano and crushed garlic. Combine the ingredients with Trader Joe's rice pasta, especially their spiral noodles, and a strongly flavored Italian cheese blend so a little bit of cheese gives a lot of flavor. Bake in a casserole dish as you would lasagna. This way you have a unique creation that tastes like pizza, but won't disappoint the taste buds that still remember what a real pizza tastes like. Trader Joes has the least terrible rice pasta made - and we've tried them all.

Hmmm I'd have to say the best pizza I ever had was from a little place in CA called Michelangelo's (I remember the name cause I was a kid and into TMNT at the time :-P). Thinking about it though I wonder if it really was the best pizza I've ever had or if it's just cause it was decent and I was a little kid and my memory is playing tricks.

I also remember my childhood as being when I had the best mexican food ever. Though that one is sorta funny cause my mom said when she was pregnant with me she would crave mexican food from that restaurant. So, maybe I got programmed to love that food.

Does anybody else have childhood memories of the "best" of specific foods?

what is white pizza? also thanks for all the gluten free tips...what is panko? we are somewhat deprived down here in little old OZ. coz we live down under the rest of the world takes it's time to share it's wonders with us. Also the whole country seems to be monopolised by only two supermarket chains that unfortunately do n not stock much of anything for people with my dietary issues...which makes it easy for me to give up on it so often.

Oh good point. I still remember my grandma making awesome pies. Both my brother and I loved her blueberry pie. Which led to a funny situation when we moved to the midwest and my aunt wanted to do something nice for us. So, she offered to make whatever we wanted for dessert and we both blurted out "blueberry pie". Her kids were always cake kids so she didn't have any clue how to make blueberry pie. She made one with my mom's help though. So, points for effort.

I was just telling my co-worker that I hate marinara and when I order a pizza, I always get it with lite sauce (and have to make sure they understand that as "l-i-t-e not w-h-i-t-e b/c that's just upsetting when the pie arrives). I pondered if it was b/c my mom craved/ate pizza with little-to-no sauce when she was pregnant with me.

Food memories: WORST mexican food EVER: Australia. OMG, it was bad. No wonder the Aussies that I knew over here thought Taco Bell was good Mexican food. (Now..I love TB, but good Mexican food it is not).

TANG: We always got Tang at my grandma's house and I LOVED it. it was served it metal tumblers and so, so delicious.

Grandma's Potato Salad: big chunks of Potatoes, tomatos, and egg whites (no yolks) mied with some miracle whip. So yummy. I haven't had it in years so I couldn't tell you if I still think it's good.

Right you are.

But they tried. I guess some day I'll have to give it a shot. I even own a rolling pin now. So, I can actually make pie crusts and not just buy the lame frozen ones. I've done the crumbly graham cracker kind too but they never hold together at all for me. Though they are yummy as heck for an apple pie. It kinda turns into a caramel like flavor. Yummy!

Zero- I have an AWESOME pie crust recipe that's super easy to make and always comes out right if you want it:)

As for your graham cracker ones here's what you do. 2 cups graham cracker crumbs 1/2 cup powdered sugar and 1/4 cup melted butter. mix and pat into pie shell. Trust me that's solid as a rock( and yet still yummy)

Actually Boris white sauce is the American addition. The original pizzas were tomato, basil, and cheese and started in Naples:)
