Fake French Prez: Yes, yes, I understand, we have the equivalent of Joe the Plumber in France, it’s called, "Marcel, the guy with bread under his armpit, oui."

Sarah Palin: Right. That’s what it’s all about, is the middle class, and government needing to work for them. You’re a very good example for us here.

***

Fake French Prez: I must say, Governor Palin, I love the documentary they made on your life, you know, Hustler’s "Nailin Palin."

Sarah Palin: Oh, good, thank you. Yes.

Fake French Prez: That was really edgy.

Sarah Palin: [Laughs] Well good.

Yeah, that one was great, I laughed my socks off when I heard it.

But it's not really stupidity when you think about it. It's more like naive to the workings of politics; many people in her situation would try to fake it, wouldn't be surprised that the French Prez might call them (especially if they have her ego), wouldn't really hear or would hear what they wanted to, and wouldn't want to question what they hear and just kind of roll along with it.

Yes, most of US would question it and want some proof it was him, but we're not Sarah and we already know we're sharper than here, to a man, right here.

To me, that one wasn't so much a sign of her stupidity--more like ignorance of the workings of the BIG world, not just her little isolated state where she controls almost everything.

Fake French Prez: Like we say in France, "on pourrait tuer des bébés phoques aussi" [Translation: We could also kill some baby seals.]

Sarah Palin: [Giggle] Well I think we could have a lot of fun together as we’re getting work done, we can kill two birds with one stone that way.

Fake French Prez: I just love killing those animals. Mm, mm. Take away a life, that is so fun!

Sarah Palin: [Hahahaha]

Uhhhh, no, I think it is stupidity, Niki.

Nope, I stand by my original statement on it. Out of her depth, trying to sound friendly but oncommittal, ignorant about the ways of the world, and egotistical enough to think it was for real.

"Stupid" is mentally inadequate. I think she's got a LOT of deficiencies in that area, but this instance shows "ignorance" and "naivete" to me, not stupidity.

There are tons of other examples, however, that would fill the bill nicely.

Crikey! I'm not sure which scares ME more - the idea that that album might be REAL, or the idea that someone would make a fake that looks like that!

You've just given me nightmares for a week, Gino.

But just to up the ante, may I present...
