Hillary Clinton raises prospect of resignation.

Who would you like to see take her place?

Nah. Hillary is considering getting away from this disaster so she can run against him in the 2012 primaries.

Sigh ... really? Am I being to idealistic to think there might be someone on the horizon who would make a great statesman or woman? I probably am. Politics. blah...

Didn't mean to offend any Hillary supporters but guess that's the nature of the RWED beast.

Good riddance to Hillary Clinton, some think this is a play for 2012, but I see it as a more positive sign... Obama is pushing her out.

Notice Biden is handling the latest Iraq fiasco,

and her latest soundbytes over Israel run directly against what Obama had to say in the past.

I think she was making policy, instead of following the lead of the President and was called on it

I think Obama is letting her quit, as publicly firing her would divide the democratic party.

and hopefully we will see her no more.

As for a replacement, I wonder if Colin Powell would like a second chance, without Cheney gruntin at him to do this or that

The Democrats already have their 2012 nominee. Don't see 'em going for Hillary, unless of course Obama decides he doesn't WANT the job anymore...

He unified the party by bringing her in to help the transition, and now it might be time to phase her out in favor of someone who's more in line with his agenda and goals.

Oh, I don't know. I'd nominate Noam Chomsky.

He knows US foreign policy in extreme depth, has a good heart, and IS NOT a politician:

A very catty response comes to mind, and I have no real idea why...

I got no issues with a lady politician, in fact I am extremely fond of Jenny, aka Jennifer Granholm - it's *Hillary* I don't like, and don't eeeeven get me started on Tipper Gore, ugh.

She's bailing out on a lost cause, is all it is, and I can't say they're gonna be too sorry to see the back of her - although her hubby is damn useful as a foreign relations negotiator, I still say we wasted that guy on a presidency and shoulda sent him to the UN instead of that maniac Bolton.

Why? She's "just a woman", after all. She's not some great shining hero, or even a great shining villain; she's just a person.

Right?

By the way, I think the thread title would make more sense if it said "Hillary is getting FIRED". But maybe that's just me. Call it wishful thinking. :)

Oooh - thanks!

How 'bout a compromise?

"Is Hillary Getting Fired?"

It's not a statement, but it's intriguing. :)

And honestly, she's not the worst person to hold that post; but I'd hoped for so much better...

'Course, that kinda sums up my impressions of Obama so far, too.

I honestly felt after she said her mentor was Madeline Albright she was unsuitable for the job...

Mind you I also feel the deaths caused by the sanction regime put onto Iraq pre invasion were equal to ethic cleansing, and one of the big problems with the UN security council is there was a push to lift many of the sanctions by a majority and it was blocked by the US and Britain.

You can imagine the reaction in the Muslim world, watching Albright say the deaths of half a million muslim children was " worth it " to preserve US security...

and today, we not only know there was no hidden weapons programs, but the bastards in charge very likely knew there were no weapons programs. But they did this shit anyway.

They executed Saddam for ordering the gassing of 10,000 people, where is the justice for the engineered deaths here? A strategy worthy of Stalin.
