Been trying to find news stories to put up, in hopes of driving that stupid thread downstream (you know the one I mean). Not a lot out there.

"Rappy" seems to be all over the place since his return, yet there's not a peep hardly out of PN. Is there sock puppetry possible? I doubt it, given PN's style is so obvious, and posts lots of videos, but the thought just occurred to me.

Also, to Ripwash: Sorry, I didn't make the connection re: your name and what I was using to refer to that 'other guy'. I sure wish you WOULD come back; we can use all the adult righties we can get around here, and I'd love to have you join the discussions.

Lastly, is everyone involved in the idiocy first mentioned, or is there nothing to talk about? I tend to think the former, which is a damned shame...looking for something of interest is frustrating enough that I'm headed off for something more useful to do with my day. First time I can really say this place is too boring to hang around. JUST my opinion.

Yeah, I have to take a good chunk of the blame for his nickname. When he showed up, I was reading his username as "RipWash" rather than "R-I-P-Wash", so I immediately shortened it to Rip, and then to Ripper (which is a nod to Rupert Giles, a reasonable voice in the Whedonverse if ever there was one!).

So when I see "Ripster" or "Rippy", I tend to think that Ripper came back to us.

He's around still, but has been quite busy with life, losing a job, and trying to find another. He had a good interview last week, I believe, and I'm sure he could use all our well wishes, since he'll refuse to accept anything like MONEY we might try to throw at him.

Ripper's a good egg, and I want for him and his family all the best the world has to offer.

As to the boredom, I'm mostly just popping in lately; had much going on in the real world. I'm actually busier than normal at work, which is an absolutely blessing, and I've been trying to keep my hands busy at home. I have this notion that if I keep using my hands, arthritis can be held at bay. Every morning, my body begs to disagree. And I refuse to listen. :)

Typing actually seems to help, at least short-term. So does catching up on a million tiny fix-it projects around the house.

The shiny hasn't yet worn off my firefly obsession I started last year, so every now and then I go reclusive and work on related projects. Drawings and such.

That other thread though, yikes. I'm pretty sure it's an example of "the unstoppable force" meeting "the immovable object." I dropped in to give AU some advice, but he was too busy, so I'm just avoiding it now. I recognize that there's some anger that there's just no mediation for, some people who will just never get along, and it's probably best to just let the initial reactions run their course. The thread will eventually die, and new stuff will come up.

You boys remember to come outside for air now and then though, it's getting suffocating in there.

Byte, I think you nailed it just right, when you said there are some people who will just never get along. And that certainly seems to be the case between Rappy and I (I won't waste anyone's time or pretend to try to spare their feelings by hiding behind phrases like "some people here.")

So we don't get along, likely never will. I'll continue to poke him in the eye, though, because (a) it amuses me some to do so, and (b) I want to make sure no one stumbles in and actually takes him for any kind of serious person.

And I'll do my utmost to remain civil - even to Rappy - in every other area of the board. But in RWED, I will absolutely call him on his bullshit, every single time.

So Mike, your explanation don't hold water entirely, you know.

That can be done with a reply or two, and you know it.

Yes, we all know that. But where does amusing yourself stop, after a hundred posts or more? Or does it stop at alL?

I'm with Rahl...you might read what he wrote; I'm tickled so far this morning to see that damned thing sink, until someone brings it to the top again no doubt, and everyone discussing more interesting things. You might too, you know (can't resist snarking at you kiddo, I know you'll probably forgive, as I'm not saying anything you don't already know, just being the little voice on your shoulder saying "shame! shame!").

Damn Rahl, I have trouble calling you "Rahl"...it's so close to Rahm...ahem...
