Okay, Sig gave me material to put up a proper post. Call your Senators to ask for real health care reform. http://pol.moveon.org/virtualmarch10/action.html?rc=homepage He put it in another thread I'd started about the public option, but it's important enough to have its own thread.

I'm looking at the link, and the numbers are going up at an amazing speed! I'm getting busy signals at both my Senators' offices, but I'm not giving up...AND you can contact their local office in your state, too. Go to http://www.congress.org/congressorg/dbq/officials/ pick your state, and it will bring up your senators. Pick one, click on it, and it will give you BOTH their Washington office and local office addresses.

GO FOR IT!

Hey, I got through...it was easier to get through to their local office, if anyone wants to know. I know it's a long-distance call, and so many are calling in some places that you can't get through. I see some states only have a few people calling, but in CA it's tough--last I looked 212 were calling!

So I was able to get through to both local offices, and I just got through to Boxer's Washington office, to learn she HAS SIGNED the letter on public option/reconcilliation!!! I called and e-mailed asking why she hadn't yet signed; tickled pink to hear she finally got on the bandwagon!

Feinstein, of course, was on there early, so MY state is covered...how about YOURS?

It's fascinating to watch for a few seconds...they have a little map that shows who's calling at that moment (or so); you can see it coming in from all over the nation. Huzzah! Maybe, just MAYBE, we can be heard?

Sig, does it do any good to contact the insurance companies? They don't give a shit, and they're not in the public eye the way the legislators are. This movement will get media, I'll bet, and hey, we're allowed to hope!

We just crossed the 1 million threshhold, and man, those numbers are whizzing by! Gawd bless the internet; this is almost kind of exciting. The little map which tells you who got through can't seem to keep up. It's kinda fun when I check in on it, that little "so-and-so called", "so-and-so called and faxed" map jumps around like crazy...it's especially fun to watch it bounce from CA to NY, all the way across the country!

To my disgust, I haven't been able to get through to DiFi's Washington office...think she chickened out and just let it give a busy signal. Bitch; but I got local and Washington offices for Boxer and local for DiFi...

C'mon, folks, do your bit; if we got a public option, that would solve 99% of the problems just because of competition!

Yeah, Sig, I knew that--she signed in VERY early, one of the original ten or so I think. That's why I was pissed at Boxer, I wanted her on board! I forgot, are you one of our LaLaLanders?

Interesting: Not a peep out of either of the Dakotas, Mississippi or Vermont. I could say something about literacy or internet use, but I'll refrain...but why not Vermont, I wonder?

California has been running hottest since I first tuned in, with New York, Washington (the state), Texas and Oregon running second almost all the time. Ahhh, those ahead-of-the-curve folk...or do we just have more to lose??

Wow, that's quite a stretch for such a tiny little fella like yourself, Outie. That's your "proof" that *I* personally tried to have you banned from THIS particular site, eh? Because I'm that high up in Obama's administration, and I have that much pull with him? That's where you want to reach on that one? Really?

Man, I'll have whatever you're smokin', son, 'cause that shit is HIGH-larious.

Not into checking facts , are you ? Very into repeating counterfactual notions though , aren't you ?

I've been "taken to school" many times, it's true - but never by you. Not even once.

Here's the thread about radar. Last we looked, Mal4Prez had quite effectively schooled YOU about wave propagation, and we were all waiting for your erudite, expert response. That was over two weeks ago, and you haven't been seen anywhere near that thread since, despite your own self-professed expertise in such matters.

http://www.fireflyfans.net/mthread.asp?b=18&t=41552&m=757337#757337

And here's the thread about Mal's gun. Note where I was corrected about the Lemat being JAYNE'S sidearm, not Mal's, and my thanks for the correction. Note also your utter and complete absence of even being IN that thread, much less "schooling" anyone in any way, shape, or form. But we're all used to you taking credit for the things you're incapable of. It's old hat around here. Or were you posting as someone else?

http://www.fireflyfans.net/mthread.asp?b=2&t=41709

And then let's get back to all those threads where you supposedly had "proof" that I tried to have you banned from this site. Remember, YOU said *I* personally tried to have YOU specifically banned FROM THIS SITE. That was YOUR claim, in YOUR words. Now you're playing the chickenshit "but you're from the government, so you must want to censor the whole interwebs" card, which would be laughable if one single element of it were anywhere near true.

But let's pull up those old threads and just have a look, shall we?

http://www.fireflyfans.net/mthread.asp?b=18&t=40039

http://www.fireflyfan.net/mthread.asp?b=18&t=34664

http://168.215.229.9/mthread.asp?b=18&t=35632

So while I may have been "schooled" before, as I've pointed out and shown, it was NEVER by you. But that's not what you claimed just yesterday, is it?

That WAS you posting that, right? That was YOU claiming to have schooled me, right?

One really would think that all that would be a huge embarrassment for you. But since you already seem to know EVERYTHING, you already know you've been made an even bigger ass, once again, if such a thing were even possible.

How'd that operation go, Out2Lunch? Were they able to pull your head out of your ass, or was it impacted in there too deeply?

As for self-importance, aren't YOU the one who was claiming to bring "truth to them as need it told", who posts up images of himself as an archangel, and who claims to have a wealth of scientific knowledge and expertise, and then vanishes in a heartbeat when someone with REAL scientific background shows up?

Like I told you before, shrimp, you're not tall enough for this ride.

Yes, please, if you can take your argument elsewhere, that would be very nice. You don't have to respond to someone taunting you just for the attention/fun of it, you know (hint, hint). Y'know, nobody's interested but you two, and if they're like me, they're not even bothering to click on the links. Old material is old material, it's easy enough to judge for ourselves.

Would be nice if OTB would stop changing the thread title, too, tho' I realize that's too much to hope for. From YOU, Mike, I expect better!

Senate votes to pass bill for health care

By Staff reports
Updated: 02/24/2010 09:34:54 PM PST

SACRAMENTO -- The California Senate voted 22 to 14 to pass Senate Bill 810, the California Universal Health Care Act. Authored by State Senator Mark Leno (D-San Francisco) SB 810 would enact a system of comprehensive, universal health care for every Californian.

State Senator Pat Wiggins, one of the bill's co-authors, said the bill will head to the state assembly.

"If approved by both houses of the Legislature and signed into law by Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, SB 810 would establish a single-payer' health care system to provide coverage to all 37 million Californians," Wiggins said.

This action page has the subject line, "A Forcible Mandate For Corporate Medical Insurance Means The END Of Your Political Career." It will send faxes for you just by submitting the form, you do not need a fax machine of your own.

As stalwart progressives, it was clear to us from that speech (five months ago), and we warned, that Obama had NO intention of letting a "public option" of any kind survive in the end. We told you that the so-called public option was never intended to be anything but a bait and switch to get gullible people of insufficient conviction and determination to give up working for true single payer.

...

Indeed, it is clear to all by now the degree that Obama is fighting AGAINST any alternative to a complete corporate takeover of health care. First they told us that we could not have anything even remotely in the ball park of single payer because we did not have 60 votes. And yet, even as they are gearing up to force through the most despised bill in American political history by some parliamentary trick that only needs 51 votes, suddenly they can't even muster THAT many for a real alternative.

President Obama was happy to selectively discuss today the various isolated selling point proposals that poll well. But these are just the most thin of sugar coatings on the most gigantic bitter pill the American people have ever been asked to swallow.
