Could be real. When my peanut butter jars are beyond the scraping-the-sides-for-the-last-bit point, I chuck them in the back yard and let the squirrels clean them out for recycling. I've seen them wear the jars like space helmets as they lick the insides.

I can imagine taking some hollowed-out coconuts, dabbing some peanut butter on the inside, leaving them out for the squirrels, and waiting for the right moment.

Gettin' old, but still a hippie at heart...

Does seem possible for me, too; squirrels are pretty damned smart about food, and have no compunction in finding it, however hard it is to get to. I've learned over time!

Gosh, I wish I could do that! I put out bird feeders...the squirrels came rapidly. I filled one of them specifically with striped sunflower seeds; they learned how to hang upside down to eat out of it. It is now the "squirrel feeder". Recently they've taken to going after the remaining bird feeder, dammit. And I have trays under both (which they find extremely convenient) to keep the stuff from falling on the ground: rats. I have to take both feeders in and clean both trays before dark: rats. If I put stuff out like you described: rats. But I'd love to be able to do it and watch the little buggers!

OUT2THEBLACK

Seems that the story checks out...Some British woman with an abundance of spare time is amusing herself by creating coconut space helmets for squirrels...I would dare say that the squirrel space program is lacking in vision...Much like the NASA space program under the squirrelly-Kenyan administration...

Space squirrels are offensive , but not so much as flagrant squirrel nudity...

David Letterman reports that during one recent cold snap in New York , he observed a city squirrel applying Vicks Vapo-Rub...to his nuts !

Help combat squirrel nudity , and put American textile workers back to work ! Get your squirrels some underpants :
