FCC National Broadband Plan to equip 100m households with 100-Mbps broadband cable

The plan also calls for every American community to have at least one “anchor” institution, such as a school, library or hospital, with ultra-high-speed internet access. The FCC defines that as at least a gigabit per second, ten times faster than the service proposed for home connections.

President Obama has pledged to connect every American home to broadband and his Administration has designated more than $7 billion (£4.5 billion) in economic stimulus money to expand broadband access in poorer communities.

Full implementation of the plan, which is estimated to cost up to $350 billion bailout tax increase, would require a substantial commitment from both the public and private sectors.

Some US telecom giants and cable television companies — the main internet service providers in the US — are wary of the broadband plan and warn of excessive government intervention.

That's the hub that will replace all website servers and replace all home harddrives. All your home data will be required to be stored on remote servers to be read by Big Brother, with SWAT raids as required. Spycams will be required inside all bedrooms for Big Brothers' viewing pleasure.

Cable TV game shows will include torture of contestants to death:

In less than that, Mike.

Pentagon Sees a Threat From Online Muckrakers
www.nytimes.com/2010/03/18/us/18wiki.html?ref=us

Quote:

“WikiLeaks.org represents a potential force protection, counterintelligence, OPSEC and INFOSEC threat to the U.S. Army. Recent unauthorized release of DoD sensitive and classified documents provide FISS, foreign terrorist groups, insurgents, and other foreign adversaries with potentially actionable information for targeting US forces. The Wikileaks.org Web site could be used to post fabricated information, misinformation, disinformation, or propaganda and could be used in perception management and influence operations to convey a positive or negative message to specific target audiences that view or retrieve information from the Web site. Wikileaks.org most likely has other DoD sensitive and classified information in its possession and will continue to post the information to the Wikileaks.org Web site. Web sites such as Wikileaks.org use trust as a center of gravity by protecting the anonymity and identity of the insiders, leakers, or whistleblowers. The identification, exposure, termination of employment, criminal prosecution, legal action against current or former insiders, leakers, or whistleblowers could potentially damage or destroy this center of gravity and deter others considering similar actions from using the Wikileaks.org Web site.”

Oh the delicious irony of wikileaks getting their hands on a document by the bastards they're muckraking, declaring them a threat, and fucking posting it.

You just can't buy that kinda satisfaction, can you ?

The bigger and faster, the more OF the internet, the harder it's gonna be for the powers that be to strangle it, no matter HOW much hardware they devote to tryin, tech is always, ALWAYS a two edged sword, it's always gonna be.

So I shall just laugh, since the "plan" benefits us either way.
