You have every right to be a fool, but I'd humbly suggest you oppose what's wrong no matter if it's YOUR party or not.
But, being someone who is an independent, I might not see how much sway that sort of thing has on "team players."

they are the left wing, and the right wing,of the same terrible promethean vulture that pecks the liver of the working man!

most people don't object to something because it is inherently, universally wrong, but rather because the other guy is doing it. government spending? godawful so long as the other party is doing it, fine if its my guy doing the spending. government control? absolutely awesome if it controls something i think ought to be controlled (THERE ARE WOMEN OUT THEIR KILLING THEIR UNBORN BABIES OMG!), absolutely lame if it controls something I don't want controlled (insurance companies have rights!).

You go right ahead and play spelling nazi all day long, and just ignore the socialists / fascists who are taking over this country.

( Note, I said ARE, not 'want'. )

Just as long as you're being controlled by Barry, and not Bush or Cheney, right ?

Of course, we COULD use the ol' argument that "Hero" and Rappy make, that we don't KNOW that this was John Dingell even speaking on that tape. Hell, they spelled his name "Dingle", so it might well be a Republican plant, or a tea-bagging scumbag trying to pass himself off as a Democrat.

And besides, I didn't listen to it, so in RappyWorld that proves that it wasn't said. After all, Rappy claims HE never heard any slurs directed against Obama ("Terrorist!" "Kill him!") during the campaign, and HE never heard anyone calling John Lewis the N-word on Sunday, so therefore it never happened. I guess that's the new Republican strategy: bury your head in your ass (again) and pretend it just didn't happen!

"The most stunning statistic, however, is that the total number of deaths caused by conventional medicine is an astounding 783,936 per year. It is now evident that the American medical system is the leading cause of death and injury in the US. Using Leape's 1997 medical and drug error rate would add another 216,000 deaths, for a total of 999,936 deaths annually. Our estimated 10-year total of 7.8 million iatrogenic* deaths is more than all the casualties from all the wars fought by the US throughout its entire history. "Harold Shipman, the British family doctor who murdered more than 200 of his patients to become one of the worst serial killers of all time, hanged himself in his prison cell on the eve of his 58th birthday, prison officials said. Shipman was sentenced to life imprisonment in January 2000 for the murder of 15 female patients between 1975 and 1998, and faced no prospect of parole. Two years later an inquiry concluded that he was responsible for the deaths by lethal injection of at least another 200 mostly female and elderly patients at his greater Manchester area practice. Most of Shipman's victims died suddenly without having experienced any life-threatening symptoms. They were, by and large, elderly women who died after being given a lethal injection, usually of morphine, while Shipman visited them in their homes."

Just enforce the death penalty against dr's who kill.

The dr who kill my father in law 2 months ago was shaking so bad he could barely talk. That's called a guilty conscience. He had ignored the diagnosis of cancer by the ER doc, since that won't make any money for the GI surgeons, just the oncologist. The surgery was to fix a problem caused by the unnecessary swallowing of a videocam by dr's orders. His father was killed by VA docs during a similar GI surgery.

Obamacare is a bailout of the insurance companies, thanks to 30-million new paying coustomers at gunpoint. Gotta keep those insurance execs' $200,000-per-week salaries. Insurance co lawyers wrote the 2,700 page bill that Congress was not allowed to read.

I don't need to nitpick anything. I'm right, Socialism and Fascism are completely different political ideals, on completely different ends of the political spectrum, with completely different ways of seeing the private sector. You can accept reality, or you can choose to deny it, it's up to you.

Ruh-roh... Get ready for some crazy parsing of words from Rappy! After all, he never said he was mad that Obama's black! He said he was pissed that Obama's black!

Denial; AU absolutely swims in it.

I'm expecting him to deny that. ;)

Yes, Kwickie, I wrote that. Of course, I was referring to battles for AMERICAN INDEPENDENCE....

Washington crossed the Delaware, not the Siene, if I recall.

no, there were battles in the New World mostly formed by French troops. You can look it up if you like, the penultimate battle of the War of Independence had more French troops fighting than American.

The French wanted to get their own back for the British kicking them out of Canada. Then using the American war of Independence as inspiration the French Peasants rose up and killed their aristocracy. It's a fascinating period of foreign policy blowback.

C'mon, Cit - you don't honestly expect Rappy to know anything about all that, do you? If they didn't teach it in 5th grade, he doesn't have any idea what you're talking about.

By the way, a big part of that French uprising had to do with the royalty of France spending the country into a deep, deep recession in joining the American side in the war against the British. Seems when the people see you've blown the country's wealth making war on other people for no discernible benefit to your own people, they kinda get a bit pissed.

You'd think that Bush might have known something about that, but apparently he never studied history any better than Rappy did.

Never said the French weren't involved, nor did I suggest they weren't vital. Just never heard that more French troops were fighting on American soil than Americans. That little lagniappe appears to be debatable.

I'm somewhat familiar w/, the Hessians ( Germans ) who fought, as conscripts, for the British. It happens to be part of my ancestry.

I think I recall something about the French and English not getting along back then.....

NIKI2

Gettin' old, but still a hippie at heart...

In 1688, the French-Canadians began paying for every enemy scalp, too, by the way. This encouraged the emergence of groups trying to make a business out of scalping settlers.

Of course, the British responded in 1693 by announcing that they would pay money for the scalps of Frenchmen and their Indian allies. As much as £100 was obtained for an important scalp.

Not pertinent to the discussion, but reflective of the French mentality (hey, I can say that, I'm daughter of a French immigrant!).
