I think he may have a few fans here. Sorry to say, but famed Si/Fi-Fantasy artist Frank Frazetta died Monday from complication from a stroke while living in Florida. An inspiration to millions, is best known for his powerful paintings on the popular “Conan” paperback novels. Much of what is seen on book covers, game covers and even tv and movie art were influenced by his imagination of how to express the “visual” to excite people. It worked for me.

He will be missed by this browncoat.

Indeed a sad day..I can remember mom buying me the Lancer paperbacks and me tearing the covers off to make it easier to trace the artwork up against the window glass...He will be missed by 5+ generations of artists that were influenced by his work

With all due respect to Mr. Frazetta (who was a wonderful and influential genre artist) maybe don't abbreviate his name "FF" in the title on a FireFly forum...

I had a couple of Molly Hatchet LP's. Don't tell anyone about that. The best part of the LP's were the covers. Will be reading "Princess of Mars" hoprfully before the John Carter film comes out and will see more of his work.

GWEK, RiverDancer, and to all the browncoat family, I am very sorry!

Please accept my apologize, I really didn’t mean to scare anyone. This info came up on one of the art forums I frequent and I was stunned by the news.

Yes, the way it was posted did come off in a bad way, but you can believe me that Firefly, Serenity and the Joss verse will never cease existing for this browncoat.

We hold until they come back!

PS: Traveler, Mphillips, ShinyGoodGuy….I had them Molly Hatchet Lps also, plus I can’t count the number of posters. Great to hear that EBR’s “Princess of Mars” is still in the works. Seems it’s been up and down a few times. With the success of movies like “Clash of the Titans” & “ Iron Man 2” sci/fi fans can always be sure there’s something new in the works.

I will always associate the 2 together - his Tars Tarkas will always be how I envision the character, certainly hope the production crew use his interpretation of Barsoom as their inspiration.

I did one of his pictures on 2draw, the infamous warrior on a horse. Really the technical aspect of his pieces are astounding. He should have been given more due. He is and always will be one of my inspirations.

Sad day indeed for the art community.
