Gettin' old, but still a hippie at heart...

My deepest sympathy to all touched by this. The same regarding Gary Coleman's death, but I never watched the show and only rarely saw him on TV except when it was unpleasant. Dennis Hopper, on the other hand, was a force and obliquely "part" of my life from childhood on. The loss of any life is terrible and painful for someone, but Hopper meant a lot to me; Coleman, nothing.

Dennis Hopper, the one-time Hollywood enfant terrible who portrayed such indelible characters as "Easy Rider's" biker Billy, "Blue Velvet's" huffing villain Frank Booth and "Hoosiers' " forlorn Shooter Flatch, died of prostate cancer Saturday morning at his home in Venice, California, his wife said. He was 74.

To Anthony, unquestionably the most civil person on this forum: “Go fuck yourself. On this matter, make no mistake. I want you to go fuck yourself long and hard, as well as anyone who agrees with you. I got no use for you. ...Raptor

To Frem: “You miserable piece of shit.” ...Raptor

...so much for "togetherness"...this, instead, weakens us...

Freedom is Important because People are Important

Hello,

Every death is lamentable, though I agree that Mr. Hopper held a special place in my heart.

My favorite performance of his was a brief monologue in True Romance, but he was generally good in everything he was in. Even in the bad movies, I don't think his skill in the craft was at fault.

"This vile and revolting malice - this is their true colors, always has been, you're just seeing it without the mask of justifications and excuses they hide it behind, is all. Make sure to remember it once they put the mask back on." --Fremdfirma

I thought Hopper was fantastic in Hoosiers, and Easy Rider is one of my all time favorite films.

Your going to be missed buddy.
