Likes to mess with stuffs.

During a new interview to promote her ABC Family show, Gina Torres looked back on her time aboard Serenity and told NYPost.com's PopWrap:

PW: What about Zoe -- where is she now that Wash has died?
Gina: I will tell you my fantasy: Zoe was pregnant when all that went down [her husband died] and she’s got this little beige, curly red headed baby running around the ship. Jayne’s trying to teach him about Vera [laughs] and he and I fight because I think the kid should learn about guns from me. Kaylie & Simon are very happy. It’s a better-verse. And Mal, well, Mal’s still just a little twisted. His communication skills have not improved. But he’s a good uncle Mal and I just think we’re all still flying. I’m by his side. That’s Zoe.

Operative: "Its worse than you know..." Mal: "It usually is."

Thanks Haken, it nice to see her gettting some attention, she is under used as an actress. I love how she has the same idea most of us had when Wash got killed, that Zoe was pregant and she got a smaller Wash to make up for the loss of the real Wash.

definitely time we saw her in something substantial. I just about leap when I see her in teeny roles in shows like criminal minds...where she waaaaaaay out acts all the other actors.

Again great post Haken. Thanks.

What I love most about Gina is her professionalism. She does go full-out in every role she plays, and I agree that she is one of the most underutilized and underappreciated actors today. This despite the fact that she's appeared in so many TV shows.

Aside from Zoe, my other fav character was Anna Espinoza from Alias. She was soooooooooo good in that role that it made the show that much more interesting. I'm happy that she's landed something, but I miss Zoe.

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

Well looks like Gina and the writer of the comic "Float Out" have one thing in common...and those that have read the comic know what I am referring to.

Sounds like her idea of what transpires in the future is nearly picture perfect, yet strangely no mention of Inara. Course being a Joss show there is no way they got there without trial and pain, and those happy moments never last long.

Thinkin' the same thing, Browncoat1. :)

And since Joss oversaw the project, it's definitely canon now that Zoe was pregnant when Wash was killed. I wonder if that was more his idea or Patton Oswalt's idea?

Honestly, I have to admit I'm a little surprised any of them went that direction. Sure, Joss can do bittersweet, but it's always seemed like he prefers all-out tragedy.

I'm not complaining, though, not really... Is it possible for something to be unexpected and yet entirely predictable at the same time?

She doesn't mention River either. Doesn't necessarily mean anything.
