Did anybody catch this last night? I was quite pleasantly surprised!

Now I am learning about scary.

I agree with both of you. I'm going to try it again next week to see where it will go.

For me, the last 10 minutes saved what might otherwise have been a too-wholesome-for-words snore-fest.

ROCKETJOCK

I want to like this series, I really do. The cast is appealing, the writing and characterization are good, the effects are solid enough.

My main problem is this: Everybody in it acts like an idiot!

I mean, first we've got a wannabe superhero who doesn't have the common sense to wear a mask on the job!. (And let's face it, Michael Chiklis doesn't exactly have a hard face to pick out of a lineup.) Come on, even wrap-around shades and a stocking cap would be better than nothing.

Second, the entire family minus one gains superpowers -- then the one who missed the "Shazam lottery" suddenly starts aceing tests, and everyone's first assumption is, "He's cheating", rather than, "Hey, maybe he didn't get left out after all."

Third, in tonight's episode a big point is made of the super-speedster's needing to remain moving at bullet speed so that she's not caught on camera. Fair enough (although, as in point one, there's no reason why she couldn't invest $3.98 in a freaking ski mask), but then she swipes a card-key at the same velocity. Hello, there's no way the scanner could get a usable read from the mag-strip at that speed -- so the writers have taken their turn holding the idiot ball too.

I'm going to give it at least a few more weeks to see if there's improvement, but my suspension of disbelief can only stretch so far.

^ Agreed on all counts, plus the fact that the murder of Det. Cho at the end of the previous episode, which should've been a major plot development this week, was covered by a single line of dialogue: "My only friend at the department was found dead last night."

I'm outta there.

Now I am learning about scary.

Thank you, RocketJock! I couldn't believe the stupid plot lines intended to make them look even dumber than they already seemed: make one dance badly, make another pretend he's Jewish... How desperate are these writers?

I gave up after that last episode and won't be back. It's a shame because it had potential.

AURAPTOR

America loves a winner!

I suppose this is the replay, on tonight.

Odd cast, though they all seem to be pretty good. Love seeing Julie again.

I'll give it a couple of eps before I pass judgement. It looks good, but that's my concern. Good story, cast, but the premise ... might just be too 'goofy' for network t.v.

Missed the part where they got their powers in the 1st place. But I'll catch up on the minor details later on.

It was better than I thought it would be. Granted, I had REALLY low expectations...

I'm hoping it doesn't become another "Heroes", where everyone and their brother is "super".

But so far, I kinda like it.

FARFLY

I started watching because Julie Benz was in it. Never was a Michael Chiklis fan but he does OK. Kay Panabaker, as the daughter who looks a lot like Amber Tamblyn (not a bad thing) is good too. Sorry to see Christina Chang killed off so early (is this a Joss Whedon show?).

Good entertainment, just not for nitpickers.
