This one mostly for Niki, but our other naturalists as well.

Local Girl Scouts are building some bat houses down the road here in Milan, and we've been helpin em out a little.

These are the same Girl Scouts, mind you, that have the local Astaru in their pocket (for labor and protection) by virtue of being the cookie supply, so there's plenty of big manly type dudes to put together the materials, which is helpful.

And the bats eat the mosquitoes - see, other states have swarms of itty bitty skeeters which hand out the death of a thousand nips, not here, nu-huh, michigan skeeters are HUGE, we're talkin double barrels of number nine shot, kinda huge.

Anyhow, it's funny as hell to watch as the combination of cute and the supply of saleable cookies and bakesale goods melts the iron spines of the Astaru into jello - those dudes would jump through flaming hoops for those kids, and not even blink at it.

And I'm off - got a scrap dealer I can maybe talk into handing off some materials if I can wrangle him a tax break out of it.
