Omigawd, FauxNews LIED?!?! No, it's just not possible...couldn't have happened...it's a liberal smear tactic, surely!
Quote:

In a shocking act of mass public deception, Fox News attempted to skew Ron Paul’s 2011 CPAC straw poll win by representing it with footage from the previous year’s CPAC event, at which Mitt Romney supporters had loudly booed the result.

Before anchor Bill Hemmer introduced a segment concerning the story, Fox News played a clip of the 2010 announcement of the poll results, during which Mitt Romney supporters had loudly booed Ron Paul’s victory, passing off last year’s footage as representative of this year’s event.

Hemmer then proceeded to state, “In the end he was the winner, probably not the reaction he was hoping for,” describing the reaction as “mixed applause and boos,” before directly asking Ron Paul if he knew who was booing him.

“Who was in the audience booing you, did you get a name, did you get an ID on those people?” asked Hemmer.

In reality, there were hardly any boos after Ron Paul was announced as the 2011 CPAC winner, the result was met with a massively positive reaction, only Fox News deemed it necessary to hide that fact from their viewers. The video clip above shows the real footage from the 2011 event, proving that Fox News had attempted to deceive Americans into thinking that Paul’s victory was unpopular, by deliberately using the wrong footage.

A separate We Are Change Oklahoma clip of the 2011 straw poll victory confirms that Paul’s win was met overwhelmingly by a loud chorus of cheers and applause.

This is the second time in the space of a week that Fox News has deliberately used dirty tricks to try and ostracize Ron Paul by discrediting the legitimacy of his potential candidacy for president.

A Fox News poll released earlier this week which asked who would make the best president included many of the potential candidates that Ron Paul trounced in the CPAC straw poll, yet the Congressman’s name was not even included in the survey.

I love how that article blames "establishment media" by citing FoxNoise's lie...which you wouldn't find on ANY other true "media" source. That's a nice tactic in itself to "prove" their claim that it's "another example of the continuing dirty tricks campaign being waged against Paul by the establishment media."

Funny, I haven't seen any "dirty tricks" on CNN or MSNBC; I've seen them give Paul his due, and they portrayed his win at CPAC honestly.

But then, FauxNews never lies, does it? Or partakes of fraud, either...you betcha!

Then again, those of us living in the real world will remember their last attempt at falsifying the "news":
Quote:

The tea party protests continued last week, as Congresswoman Michele Bachmann held an anti-health-care-reform rally on the steps of the Capitol. While she estimated that 20,000-45,000 people attended the event, the Washington Post reported it was actually more like 10,000.

Sean Hannity and his team did more than cover the event. They not only inflated the number in attendance with their words, but actually used footage from a heavily-attended protest this summer to make this health care rally appear more popular. Hannity even pointed out that this was a huge crowd for a Thursday, when the protest footage they used was from a Saturday.

Jon Stewart and his team caught this discrepancy and ran with it, pointing out neither the color of the leaves nor sky in the tacked-on video matched that of the actual footage. They went on to mock Fox by adding more video to the interview, this time from Woodstock and the movie "300."

As a commenter on that article said:

"It was Sean Hannity that ccused Ron Paul supporters of inflating the telephone polls, during the primaries.
He needs to answer for this. Needs to be harrassed about this.
This is the kind of media crap that changed me to a Ron Paul supporter.
Hannity has become a useful idiot.

The part that irks me the most, is that Hannity pretends that Fox news, and his radio show, are part of some kind of alternative media.
It's important that Hannity's groupies know that he has done this, and continues to do this every day.

Or..maybe the Godlike Sean Hannity has the ability to control the weather?"

It's nothing new; myriad easily-verified reports of FoxNoise can be found to be fraudulent:
Quote:

Beck claimed G-20 protesters in Pittsburgh carried a hammer-and-sickle symbol, but image actually came from a California school's "Class of 2007" mosaic. On the September 29 edition of his Fox News show, Glenn Beck claimed that "[t]he very next day after the premiere" of Michael Moore's new film, Capitalism: A Love Story, "people were on the streets" of Pittsburgh protesting the G-20 summit "with this." Beck then aired an image of a hammer and sickle and read from the photo, "Oh, look at that -- 'Capitalism Will Fail' down there at the bottom." But the image Beck aired was not from the G-20 protests in Pittsburgh. Rather, as FoxNews.com reported on June 25, the image was of a "Class of 2007" mosaic painted by eighth-graders on tiles outside a Berkeley, California, school. The following is the image that Beck aired during his report:

FauxNews consistently lies and presents fraudulent or cropped material to mind-control their afficianados. (examples at http://mediamatters.org/reports/200905050003) All media does it some, but Fox does it so much, you just gotta --unless you're someone who watches them exclusively, in which case you're a fool who swallows their game hook, line and sinker.

But then, FauxNews never lies, does it? Or partakes of fraud, either...you betcha!

Thanx, PN; for once you gave me a good laugh.

Notice in the clip that they "apologize" by saying it was an "honest mistake" (just like the crowd shots in that other one). He goes on to say there are similiarities between the two, and shows a clip to illustrate the "similiarities". So. Fox is

A) dishoest, or
B) incompetent, or
C) all of the above

Note he also said "there were a lot more cheers this year"...STILL indicating there were boos...sigh...they just can't make an honest statement, can they?

...and again, where are their defenders? I KNOW we have at least a couple on the forums; they're either

A) tired of defending Fox, or
B) buying the "honest mistake" bit (for the umpteenth time) or
D) hiding, or
E) all of the above

ETA: Even tho' web page doesn't come up if you click PN's link, it's real easy to find, because they misspelled Fox News. Google "FOXNEWS Forced To Apologize On Air" if you want to see it for yourself.
