I thought you'd like to know what the Chinese character on the sweatshirt means. While in modern Chinese it's pronounced zhi3 and means "only," in Ancient Chinese it was pronounced qi2 and meant "peace and happiness." So it's probably "serenity," as an auctioner last year said.

Now they're going with ping2jing4 平静 ("tranquil") for "serenity," as seen in the ship's logo just before Book meets Kaylee in the pilot--used for Shiny's avatar picture on this site--and on the cast/crew patch in the Blue Sun Room here.
