DREAMTROVE

We have an old stone retaining wall on the creek here, built in the late 18th century out of mortarless stone. in 2006, after 219 years, it started to buckle in one spot because of a massive flood that made world news, so you probably heard about it.

Anyway, FEMA came in to the whole flood area, and so they came to each town. In our town, spent two million dollars and made a racket for 3 years, running generators drills and stonecutting saws all day and night. They took down the entire wall and built a whole new one to look just like the old one. They started by cutting out all new stones, shipping them in adding cantilever supports, etc. etc. and 18 months ago they completed their new wall.

Last night it collapsed.

There was a thunderstorm. Water flood levels are not particularly high, they're about normal for this time of year.

That's what a ship is, you know - it's not just a keel and a hull and a deck and sails, that's what a ship needs.

Nah, my actual home in New York. The house I lost is in Iowa. I need to trim my life. I'm thinking the english language is cluttering it ;)
