Really? All I saw in the article was that rates of decay are not stable, and that may somehow we attributed to something the sun outputs. Which means the dating of carbon may not be as accurate. Doesn't mean evolution does not exist, or that carbon dating is a lie, just means that there may be new evidence which about dating remains.

I've gotta side with Magon on this one. This idiocy is another pointless distraction. I should have remembered that the evolution "debate" is so astonishingly dumb as to render the birther debate moot.

You can actually prove evolution logically in the absence of any evidence. There are about 10,000 ways to do it. Here's one off the top of my head right now, I just made it up:

Take a bowl of 100 colored marbles. Select out ten that are closest to green. Take those green marbles and remove the 5 greenest ones, and put them on a jar. Now, add 5 random marbles, and pour your five greens back in. Repeat.

You don't actually have to do this to know that the result will be that your ten green marbles are becoming increasing blue with each round until you're holding ten blue marbles and calling them green.

In PNWorld™, if you find a rate of decay that's 0.00000001% different from the expected, then everything else is "a big fat lie".

PN will be introducing legislation to make Pi = 3.00, just to make it easier for American students. ;)

I'd like to point out that DT's marble experiment proves micro evolution, survival of the fittest etc. but it doesn't prove macro evolution. I understand and agree with micro evolution, for the reasons mentioned above that it can be substantiated, but I don't go for the macro. I've always suspected that carbin dating sometimes has flaws. I think it has uses, but maybe we need a secondary measure too.

I believe carbon dating is used for thousands of years not millions. It would'nt even have any use for evolutionary time periods.

LOL. This is the sort of thing I try not say, oh man from Georgia. (Okay, so I came up here from Kentucky, so sue me.)

Seriously though, Riona, I've been avoiding this topic, but if you apply logic you can prove Darwin to be correct without any evidence at all. It's a logically inescapable conclusion. If you want to believe in a master plan, there's plenty of ways to do so: For instance, our genetic code appears to be overwhelmingly pre-written, and all that changes as we evolve is that genes get turned on and off, not that their numbers increase by much. I have my own theories about why that is, but if someone were to say "it's God's plan" that would be hard to shoot down. "We didn't evolve from apes" is pretty easy to shoot down.

Kentucky is the home of the Creation Museum, if I'm not mistaken.
