I would wonder if Gingrich was for real, but he’s shown over and over that he is...he’s just not of this planet! His latest effort to squirm away from something he said is absolutely amazing in its convolution:

I think the answer is quite simple. He felt a strong need to 'dis' Ryan and his plan, as a means to appear to the public as a 'maverick', and a different sort of GOP candidate. Problem is, he'd already come out in favor of Ryan's plan.

Newt was on shaky ground from the start, then he went and did this nonsense.

My support is for Herman Cain.

Well said, Raptor; you may well be right. At least, I agree anyway(except for the last statement).

"We'll know our disinformation program is complete when everything the American public believes is false." -- William Casey, Reagan's presidential campaign manager & CIA Director (from first staff meeting in 1981)

Herman Cain doesn't know the Declaration of Independence from the Constitution. Of course Rappy would support him!

As for Gingrich, I find it quite amusing that those who whined the loudest about John Edwards and his $400 haircut don't have a goddam thing to say about "frugal" Newt and his half-million dollar account at Tiffany & Co.

As Colbert pointed out, maybe Newt's buying engagement rings in bulk!

Cain knows more about the US Constitution than Kwickie ever will.

The 'whiners' about Newt's Tiffany credit line are just hypocritical libs, trying to phony up an issue where there isn't one.

Newt properly and legally reported it, so there's no issue there. He's an author, and private citizen, so what he does with his own money, is his own damn business.

And as for Edwards, he was the idiot talking about 2 Americas, and how his 'Diddy' worked soooo hard in the 'mee-ill'... please. What he really meant was that he's livin' 2 lives, one as a devoted husband to a dying wife and mother to his children, and one as a 2 timing whore dog, trolling the local college bars, looking for a little coed companionship.

Sure about that? I knew he had this wrong when I heard him say it!

Empirical evidence says your claim above is 100% wrong. Herman Cain literally does not know what is in the Constitution and what is in the Declaration of Independence. He's a buffoon, a sham, a complete moron. No wonder you support him. He's exactly like you - a blowhard with a great sense of self-importance who doesn't have a goddam clue what he's talking about. You're two of a kind!

So tell us all, why did you care how much Edwards paid for his haircuts? After all, he paid for them with his own money, so it's his own damn business, right?

I'm pretty sure you're thinking of Newt. You've just described him perfectly.

Well, except that he never pretended to be a devoted husband once he thought either of his first two wives were dying - he hightailed it out of there post-haste!

I'm 100% right. Cain DOES know the Constitution and Declaration of Independence. He is human, however, and when he makes tiny gaffs w/ out using a telepromter, he's still a lot more on the ball than " 57 states / May 24, 2008 " Obama.

I'd be honored to be compared to Herman Cain. He's a REAL American.

Newt's ex wives are still alive, right ?

He never trolled any college town bars, looking for horny co-eds, like Edwards, did he ?

Man, you're so completely worthless.

Yep. You have no case. No point. Nothing, at all.

It is obvious to me and anyone paying attention to his speech that he DOESN'T know the documents, or the difference between them. This isn't a simple "gaffe" - this is him REPEATEDLY referencing the Constitution, saying we need to RE-read it, not re-write it, that all this stuff is in there - and he clearly has no idea what the fuck he's talking about.

He is every bit as ignorant as Michele Bachmann, who went to New Hampshire to commend the voters of that state on "the shot heard 'round the world" at Lexington and Concord. Too bad for her that she was speaking about events which occurred in Massachusetts, not New Hampshire!

Of course, by saying that Cain and Bachmann are ignorant of this nation's history and its Constitution, and that they don't know much of anything about that latter, I realize that I'm opening myself up for all sorts of threats and abuse from their supporters. Or maybe not - after all, I'm not a 16 year-old girl! Threats to rape me to teach me a lesson probably won't have much of an effect on me...

How many times did Obama reference "57 states"? Once? Cain's "tiny gaffs" [sic] dwarf anything Obama's said, both in number and in scope.

Here's Cain in his own words:

Quote:

We don’t need to rewrite the Constitution of the United States of America, we need to reread the Constitution and enforce the Constitution. … And I know that there are some people that are not going to do that, so for the benefit of those who are not going to read it because they don’t want us to go by the Constitution, there’s a little section in there that talks about “life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.”

You know, those ideals that we live by, we believe in, your parents believed in, they instilled in you. When you get to the part about “life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness,” don’t stop there, keep reading. Cause that’s when it says “when any form of government becomes destructive of those ideals, it is the right of the people to alter or abolish it.” We’ve got some altering and some abolishing to do!

That's a whole lotta "gaffes" in just a few short sentences.

So was his "gaffe" in thinking that these things are in the Constitution, which you insist he knows FAR more about than I ever could? They quite clearly are not in the U.S. Constitution. That isn't even up for debate. He's claiming things that simply are not true. Or, to put it in your words, he's LYING. And you can't even say that he isn't; after all, your claim is that it's not a lie if you don't know it's not true when you say it. But you swear that Herman Cain, a man you don't know at all, knows FAR more about the Constitution than I do, so it's impossible that he could be claiming these things to be true and at the same time NOT know that these things are NOT true, right? I mean, a Constitutional expert like Herman Cain OBVIOUSLY knows that the things he's saying are simply not true, yes? So he's lying, plain and simple.

Now, if you think that he meant to say "the Declaration of Independence" instead of "the Constitution", then you have another issue to face: Herman Cain is not very clear on the differences between the two documents. One is a pure propaganda piece, and the other lays out the formation of our government and the law of the land. The Declaration which he is (badly) quoting was never the law of the land. And in quoting it, he is calling for the abolition of the United States of America and its form of government. In fact, he quite clearly says as much: "We've got some altering and some abolishing to do!"

No matter how you slice it, these aren't "tiny gaffes" - they're big, they're numerous, and they're serious.

Herman Cain is no "real" American, and he's no patriot. But again, that's why you support him - because he's exactly like you!
