What comes up here is what's coming up off the radar in the wider world, but hasn't yet caught the widespread attention of the MSM. Generally speaking, by the time the "news" gets hold of a story, it's really the "olds" by then.

DHS was monitoring social media sites it was revealed last year. Nothing in the article makes me believe they've stopped. If it is from EFF you can believe it.

I reckon that it reflects what is going on in the world. We just all feel safe to come here and say how we really feel because it isn't censored and no one will stop us. Does anyone watch this site? Well its possible since sometimes people say subversive things here, the NSA might look in sometimes, but I think that's typical.

Well, in a sense, everything you post here IS "broadcast", in a manner of speaking, at least to everyone who looks at this site and these threads.

But we're not the ones steering the news coverage.

In general, you should bear in mind that every single thing that you post on your computer, in fact every single thing that you WRITE on your computer - even the Word docs - every single thing that you DO on your computer is wide open to any authority who wants to look at it. It was easy enough to do before the Patriot Act made it legal to do.

Not only do I assume it, I all but count on it.
I did used to be a whole lot more cryptic and circumspect, till it came down from "on high" via former contacts that nobody really gives a shit about anything I might know, it being a relative pinprick compared to the crap folks these days could spill if they wanted to.

Hey, at least they got the 'prick' part right!

Besides, mosta the folk I woulda wanted to hang out to dry are sleepin with the fishes... cept that bastard Kissinger, grrr.
