PIRATENEWS

John Lee, conspiracy therapist at Hollywood award-winner History Channel-mocked SNL-spoofed PirateNew.org wooHOO!!!!!!

Keepers at Pocatello Zoo, Idaho, were worried when they noticed Shooter, a four-year-old elk, acting strangely at his water trough.

Baffled, they watched as the animal - who is so massive some keepers are afraid to even enter his enclosure - tried to dip his hooves into his drinking trough, before attempting to dunk his whole head in the water.

But they were amazed as 10ft tall Shooter lifted his head from the trough clutching a tiny marmot - a kind of large squirrel - between his jaws.

The gentle giant placed the hapless rodent down and nudged it with his hoof, as if checking it for signs of life, before calmly watching it scamper off into the bushes.

Zoo staff caught the entire rescue on camera. 'It really was amazing,' said Kate O'Conner, Pocatello's education co-ordinator.

Moose just didn't want that rodent dirtying up his drinking water.

Sheesh. Folks get so sentimental about animals.

Elk and a marmot.

Cute story.

Rap,

Until yiu accept that humans are animals, you will never understand why humans sometimes do good things.

Priceless!

Neat story, thanx. And yes, there are a number of species who behave better than we do at times, absolutely. I think it's nice to be reminded of that from time to time.

"It's moose and sqvirril."
"Elk and ... marmot."

HA HA HA HA Ha ha ha ha ha ... OK. I've picked on your posts enough to deserve that.

Can we settle on Cervidae and Rodentia?

Oh, we're animals alright. When did I ever suggest otherwise ?

Should I have said 'other' animals ? 4 legged animals ?

why do we rescue mice? And dolphins, dogs, and dogs, dolphins?

We're not anthropomophising, we're correctly analyzing that part of us which is animal. And that part is pro-life.

Curious niki caught kki's post but not my more accurate, and obvious one.

Kiki,

It was in the story. Also, lots of thin antlers=elk. Moose has a big flat one. PN was way off.

But thanks for the story, John.

DT, why should I have mentioned your post? It's what the story is already about, so it's just calling it what it is. The "moose and sqvirrel" is funny; it refers to "Rocky and Friends", if you didn't know, and is a good take. That's all.

That's okay...I'm sure not many of us are old enough to remember Rocky and Bullwinkle. I got it 'cuz I watched them; loved their social humor, and actually have a DVD.
