Funny how that works, innit ?

Welfare Drug Testing Bill Withdrawn After Amended To Include Testing Lawmakers
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/01/27/welfare-drug-testing-bill_n_1
237333.html

Quote:

In the past year Republican lawmakers have pursued welfare drug testing in more than 30 states and in Congress, and some bills have even targeted people who claim unemployment insurance and food stamps, despite scanty evidence the poor and jobless are disproportionately on drugs. Democrats in several states have countered with bills to require drug testing elected officials. Indiana state Rep. Ryan Dvorak (D-South Bend) introduced just such an amendment on Friday.

"After it passed, Rep. McMillin got pretty upset and pulled his bill," Dvorak said. "If anything, I think it points out some of the hypocrisy. ... If we're going to impose standards on drug testing, then it should apply to everybody who receives government money."

Unless the same "rules" apply to EVERYONE, it's tyranny, period.

The Animal Farm reference should have been clear enough.

The Homer Simpson line, not so much.

The fact that you feel the need to explain a joke I obviously got and then improved upon cause you assume everyone is as dumb as you are makes you look even stupider.

Oh it gets even better...
http://www.masson.us/blog/?p=8252
Quote:

Rep. Dvorak’s amendment to Rep. McMillin’s HB 1007 passed during second reading by a vote of 54 – 41 (with 4 excused and 1 not voting). It is an amendment to HB 1007 which provides for a test program whereby welfare recipients would be required to submit to and pass drug tests as a condition to receiving public benefits.

Apparently running with the notion that taxpayer dollars shouldn’t go to abusers of drugs and alcohol, Rep. Dvorak’s amendment requires legislators to submit to drug tests and a random breathalyzer test. They would have to reimburse the legislative council for the costs of these tests. If the legislator refused or failed the test, he or she would be subject to discipline or an assessed penalty by his or her chamber.

I’m hearing that, with this amendment, Rep. McMillin is no longer so enthusiastic about the bill and will not be moving it forward.

Proving that McMillin is just as fulla shit as the rest of em - epic political trolling this, perhaps we can eventually bait them into walking right off a cliff by telling them the other party did it first...
Morons, the whole bloody lot of them.

Oh, Frem, I LOVE IT! And it's right on; our legislators shouldn't be getting paid with our tax dollars if they're using drugs, so it's perfectly appropriate that they should undergo testing too. But that all these kinds of sick efforts could be so easily dealt with, we'd have so many fewer of them if they were!

Gotta give 'em points for imagination; it's not something I would have thought of and it's PERFECT!

Be neat if somene could turn around the anti-abortionists by saying anyone who is ACTIVE against choice should have to adopt a baby, but of course that's impossible...

p.s. In my opinion, it's not "projection", it's whatever he can pull out of thin air to goad people with. Doesn't work on those with any intelligence, obviously, but it usually DOES get a response...

Then the Kennedy legacy sure would be one hell of a lot shorter, if this were indeed the case!

Actually, it's more like hypocrisy than projection, and it's not pulled out of thin air at all. And I've even shown this to be the case. Being exactly what you accuse me of being.

You still don't get it. I wonder why.

It's truly amazing. He must not have gotten the Wilbur reference, because if he had, he never would have tried to unnecessarily explain his joke. But then to obstinately insist that Frem is the one who didn't get it....

Hyperbole aside, I didn't think it was possible to think even less of the Raptard's "intellect."

But there ya go. Wonders never cease.

No, I didn't get the Wilbur reference, as it didn't tie into anything relating to what I had said. It was nothing but an inane , meaningless crack. Owner of a talking horse ? yeah, what ever.

I was sorta agreeing w/ the original point, but never mind that, huh?

What followed was as childish and inconsequential as anything as ever has been on this board, so I felt no need to respond. It's not " running away " , in the least. It's just being bored w/ the nonsense, and not seeing any point in throwing mud at little piggies already covered in their own filth.

I don't think they were talking about Charlotte's Web, but maybe they should have been because that movie is cool, I loved it when I was a little girl and the new one with Dakota Fanning was cute too, but I will always like the cartoon one better because I grew up with it.

I used to think the sum of one and one was two, but we add up to more, me and you!

Yeah the immaturity displayed in this thread is rather baffling and astounding all in one. And people slag on me for being immature (scoffs at humanity)
