Yeah, that region of Japan is pretty much boned.

Hey Frem, how's your Miko friend doing? She talked any sense into anyone?

I'm still wondering about my friend on the south side of the island.

Hey PN, you're seriously late on this. While you were busy tracking the Jewish-Nazi-Communist-British-Templar conspiracy, you lost sight of the Far East conspiracy.

"Chief Engineer: I’m telling my friends on West Coast of US to watch Unit No. 4 like a hawk — Wake up everyday and make sure it’s standing… have a plan to move somewhere"

The guy's not kidding, and he's not crazy. IF Unit No 4 SFP goes dry or falls down and you live on the west coast and you're under the age of about 60, RUN.

Unfortunately, while SOME Japanese are running around pointing and gibbering and waving their arms at this nightmare-in-waiting, the Japanese Prime Minister is temporizing and (in essence) NOT responding or taking proactive stance

I think what the PM is saying is that at this point, evacuating those people won't do them any good. It's likely far too late for them, he just can't say it like that.

They're still in kind of a holding pattern right now - from the few messages that I've gotten they started trying to rebuild but the contaminated water (particulates, perhaps?) keep seeping in and it got too hot for that to be really safe, then they shoved em off to be tested/decontaminated/whatever, and currently in sort of a temp housing refugee type deal which is actually kinda nice for what it is...

I told her, teeth gritted the whole time, they oughta just come HERE - there's an abandoned, foreclosed, and about to be demolished apartment complex 2 miles down the road which you could buy out dirt cheap (especially compared to land/housing prices in japan!!) drop some pre-fabs on, and viola you got a whole neighborhood.
The notion of... *twitch* THEM (as in her and her cronies) living within walking distance is downright winceworthy to me, but given the alternatives I couldn't look myself in the mirror if I didn't offer the suggestion.

I doubt they'll do it, while SHE might find the idea intriguing most of the rest of that community isn't at all found of us loud, obnoxious, impolite jackasses and our screwed up culture (as if they got lots of room to talk sometimes) and has little interest in relocating to a country where they wouldn't feel at home, so I dunno.

Frem, are you saying you found Yuriko?

I assume you're my pal until you let me know otherwise.
